As moms, planning sweet surprises for our kids’ birthdays is magical. But when they are old enough to make or buy something for us?! That heartfelt moment creates a core mom memory — and makes us feel like queens. That is, unless they decide to prank us instead like North West recently did on her mom Kim Kardashian’s birthday. The 11-year-old gave her mom the strangest birthday gift on her 44th birthday on Monday, and it’s so on-brand for the cheeky pre-teen.
The Kardashians star shared videos of the gifts her kids North, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5, who she shares with ex Kanye West, gave her on her Instagram story. It began sweetly enough.
“Look what Chi Chi and the kids made for me,” Kardashian says, as she films a bunch of balloons hanging up with Polaroids of Kardashian and her kids tied the ends with pink ribbon. “They made me balloons, but with hanging messages,” she continues, flipping over one of the pictures to show a hand-drawn note that say things like, “You are a flower to me” and “You are the best Mommy ever.”
“These are so cute! I love this,” Kardashian adds. How adorable!
In her next story, we can see white and pink balloons printed with Kardashian’s face on the side. “North, did you make these balloons?” she asks her eldest daughter in the clip. “I didn’t make them. ButI bought them for you!” North responds, making Kardashian laugh. Close enough, right?
North’s actual present veered to the strange, though. The SKIMS founder showed off her dazzling diamond necklace with an engraving that only Gen-A experts will understand: “Skibidi Toilet.” Yes, you read that right!
“And North got me this diamond necklace,” Kardashian says with a laugh, “that says ‘Skibidi Toilet.’ Wow!”
“And, ‘Love, North,’” North interjects, flipping the engraving over to show the back, which also has “10/21/2024” underneath.
“Because you love ‘Skibidi Toilet,’” North adds, making Kardashian laugh again. “I do?”
PEOPLE has screenshots of her stories HERE, and they also did some research on the whole Skibidi Toilet trend (that is, if you haven’t been haunted by it with your own kids already). According to the outlet, Skibidi Toilet is “a viral computer graphic web series on YouTube created by Alexey Gerasimov on his channel DaFuq!?Boom!.” It’s set to the most annoying song in the world as human heads that come out of toilets (yes, really) fight against humanoids.
On one video, the comments from parents are hilarious. “Good luck, future historians,” one person wrote, receiving 3,400 likes. Another said, “You have set humanity back by nearly 50 years,” and 20,000 people liked it … because yikes!
“This one guy did more damage to a generation than the stock market crash of 2008 did to Millenials,” someone else wrote. (It’s a weirdly poetic gift from North though, given how people have said similar things about the Kardashians over the years.)
The SKIMS founder was showered with flowers, gifts, and sweet notes from friends on her birthday. Her mom Kris Jenner posted sweet throwback photos, writing, “Happy Birthday to my beautiful Kimberly!!! You are truly such a light to everyone who meets you. Your strength and determination is second to none and the way you constantly fight for those who need your help and always give your energy and love to everyone around you. I’m so proud of you every single day.. you are the most amazing mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend.”
“You are such a huge part of my heart, and I cherish every single precious memory we have ever made,” she continued. “You bring me such happiness and joy and I love you beyond any measure my beautiful daughter. I love you 💕 Mommy @kimkardashian”
Her sister Khloe Kardashian wrote in part, “To one of the most spectacular and extraordinary humans I know, Happy birthday!! To the queen of manifestation. The ultimate unicorn of all unicorns. To my Bestie sister I am screaming happy birthday @kimkardashian With every year, you have gotten stronger but also gentler, wiser, braver, more vocal with your beliefs. You have managed to become kinder and more understanding with every year that has passed by. You always hear how people become grumpier the older they get. You hear how people are stuck in their ways but you have become more self-aware, loving and patient people. Some how hotter too but that’s for a different time.”
Kourtney Kardashian also shared throwback pictures of her and Kim on her Instagram story, writing “Happy Birthday to my first sister!!” over a picture of the girls on their way to elementary school.
“I’ll always be the Michael to your Marilyn, do whatever beauty rick you convince me to try, and twin forevaaaaa and evaaa and ever,” she added over various other photos.
She is truly loved!
