Kylie Jenner Reveals the One Thing Her Daughter Stormi Is ‘So Interested’ In & It Proves She’s Her Mom’s Mini-Me

Kylie Jenner’s 6-year-old daughter Stormi doesn’t just look like her mom’s mini-me — she acts like it too! The Kylie Cosmetics founder has been playing with makeup since the earliest episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and now her daughter is obsessed with beauty, too.

“There were one or two beauty influencers on YouTube showing you how to do eye shadow,” she said in a new cover story with Elle. Now “girls are getting great at their makeup. These 12-year-olds are doing makeup amazing! Even my daughter is so interested in wanting to play with makeup, and she’s six.”

To be fair, I also loved playing with makeup as a kid well before the influx of beauty influencers and Sephora tweens. Still, the perfect beauty ideals that are being presented to kids at younger and younger ages — which Jenner herself helped perpetuate with her infamous lip kits — can be concerning. That’s part of the reason she is focused on keeping her young daughter off social media as much as she can.

“When I do share my children, I want it to come from me or their father,” she told Elle, referring to her ex Travis Scott. She also shared her rule: “It’s no socials for as long as possible. Stormi will come home and she’ll know full TikTok dances. I’m like, ‘Where did you learn this?’” Jenner added that her ideal time for her kids to get their own accounts is when “they move out of the house.”

The Khy founder understands the pressures and body image issues that can come from too much time online, admitting that she had postpartum depression after getting pregnant at 19 and watching her body change. Now, Jenner is feeling confident 2-and-a-half-years after welcoming son Aire.

“I haven’t had a baby in a few years. The first part of my twenties was having children, learning what my personal style was and then losing it — not knowing how to dress, gaining 60 pounds for both pregnancies. It took me a year to feel like myself again,” she said. “At 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever.”

Stormi herself has helped her mom overcome some of her body image issues. In a 2023 interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine, the multi-millionaire revealed, “My daughter has totally taught me a lot more about myself, and seeing myself in her has changed everything. I’ve had so much growth and am just embracing natural beauty.”

With Jenner’s mindset about natural beauty, plans to monitor social media for her kids, and an experience being thrust into the public spotlight early to draw from, then hopefully Stormi will be able to keep makeup fun and playful as she grows up. You love to see it!
