Pregnancy doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your style. Case in point: Jennifer Lawrence. The Hunger Games star was glowing during her first red-carpet appearance since announcing her second pregnancy with husband Cooke Maroney — and her bump-revealing outfit looked so cool!
Lawrence attended the 2024 AFI Fest premiere of her new reproductive rights documentary called Zurawski v Texas on Oct. 23. She wore a trendy trench coat-inspired dress that hung off one shoulder and was tied with a black belt under her bust, which accentuated her growing bump. Her long blonde hair hung loosely down her shoulders, and she looked absolutely radiant in the white gown.
The Oscar winner, who is also mom to 2-year-old son Cy with Maroney, previously revealed her maternity style on a date night with her art gallerist husband. That time, she wore a form fitting white La Ligne t-shirt with flowing black pants that looked as comfortable as it was cool. Fall white has never looked better!
Lawrence’s first public outing since the pregnancy news is thanks to a cause close to her heart. The Zurawski v Texas documentary was executive produced by Lawrence and Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. It’s about Texas resident Amanda Zurawski and other women who sued Texas after the state’s strict anti-abortion laws almost killed them, per Deadline.
In a 2022 interview with Vogue, Lawrence reflected on the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade and how being pregnant made her even more compassionate about abortion rights. “I remember a million times thinking about it while I was pregnant. Thinking about the things that were happening to my body,” she said. “Every single second of my life was different. And it would occur to me sometimes: What if I was forced to do this?”
She poignantly added, “It’s too personal to a female’s existence to watch white men debate over uteruses when they from the bottom of their hearts can’t find a clitoris.”
