Coco Austin’s Pretty-In-Pink Twinning Picture With Daughter Chanel Sparks Backlash & People Need To Grow Up

Coco Austin is living it up in the Bahamas (jealous!) with her daughter Chanel, 8, and she shared the cutest twinning pictures to mark the occasion. But because it’s the internet, people found something to be mad at. Many commenters were up in arms about one aspect of her post that has us rolling our eyes.

“A little rain in Bahamas didn’t stop Chanel and I to go out to the pool! We create our own energy,” the TV personality, who shares Chanel with husband Ice-T, captioned the post on Instagram. She added, “Rain or shine we still got to rock our traditional twinning swimsuits.”

The duo is wearing matching pretty-in-pink bikinis from Fede Swimwear as they pose for cute photos. Chanel’s version is perfect for kids, with a sports-bra like top and full-coverage bottoms with a pretty, hot pink tie. In the photo, Chanel smiles in front of palm trees, with one leg crossed and one hand holding her mama’s hand. Austin also has braids (and hot pink sunnies!) with a bikini that is made of the same pink material but is much more revealing than Chanel’s. A cut-out in the front reveals her cleavage and side straps show off her hips. In the first photo, she has one hand on her hip and the other leg crossed, just like her daughter.

They look adorable! In other photos, Austin shows off the back of her swimsuit by doing a deep squat, with Chanel smiling sweetly on her lap. They walk hand-in-hand in some snaps and Chanel rides on her mom’s shoulders as they both stick their hands up in the air in another.

Apparently, women aren’t allowed to be confident and sexy if their kids are around because people were really mad about these posts.

“Why is no one weirded out that she’s doing a booty shot with her daughter in the photo that’s hella weird,” one person wrote. Someone else rudely said, “I’m horrified … just don’t get it.”

Just because you wouldn’t pose for a photo that way doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it!

“Innapropriate bathing suit and poses,” someone else, whose opinion Austin definitely didn’t ask for, commented. “Your daughter is getting older now, time to be modest and sexy, rather than trashy and sexy.” How is going swimming trashy?

Many people did show support for Austin, though. “Love that you always stay true to you. Such a fun mom and I can’t believe how big she is now!” one person wrote. Someone else wrote, “Some may view this negatively, but as someone with degrees in psychology, I see it differently. Coco is instilling self-confidence in her daughter by openly showing the world who she is, contrasting with those who only complain in small circles. This little girl will enter every room with her head held high, fully aware of her value. That’s why I see @coco as one of the most influential figures. Coco, be proud — your daughter will never walk with her head down. You’re equipping her with self-esteem and confidence to embrace her individuality as she grows. This foundation will empower her to choose relationships that truly honor her worth.” Period!

Earlier this week, Austin shared selfies taken in the elevator at the family’s hotel. “Some family vacation elevator pics … Yes, we’re silly #icefamily” she captioned the snaps.

In one photo, she and Chanel are wearing nice dresses and heels while Ice-T takes the photo in a t-shirt and shorts. In another, Ice-T is in all white as Chanel and Austin twin in light pink. In the last photo, Ice-T and Austin match in all black as they sit on their suitcases. Chanel sits on her mom’s lap in a blue jumpsuit with a little white backpack. They are so cute!

In addition to modeling body positivity and confidence, Austin is also teaching her daughter how to deal with haters. In an interview with E! Newslast year, she revealed, “We had one bully conversation and it was actually in kindergarten. This little girl was bullying [Chanel], and she used to come home and say, ‘Mommy, I don’t like this girl. She’s mean to me.’”

“When I saw this parent, I killed her with kindness,” Austin continued. “And her whole opinion changed of me, and she probably had a conversation with her daughter [because] Chanel didn’t have a problem the rest of the year. As a matter of fact, she was asking Chanel, ‘Can I come to your parties? Can I come to your house?’ And that’s all it takes: You just have to kill them with kindness.”
