There’s no doubt about it: babies change things. Your sleep quality, your daily routine, even your relationships with other people including (especially?) your partner. How can they not? They are tiny, adorable balls of need that demand attention 24 hours a day. But even before birth, babies can impact your relationship, which is reportedly happening with Megan Fox and her fiancé Machine Gun Kelly, who are expecting their first child together. Insiders revealed how Fox’s pregnancy has already changed her relationship, and it’s so sweet.
“They are both thrilled and excited to be parents together,” a source told Us Weeklyon Nov. 13. “The pregnancy is bringing them closer.”
Fox and MGK (born Colson Baker) have had a tumultuous on-and-off relationship since they began dating in 2020. They got engaged in Jan. 2022, and in a Nov. 2023 appearance on Good Morning America, the Jennifer’s Body star revealed that she had a miscarriage, which was “very difficult” for them.
“I had never been through anything like that before in my life,” Fox said on GMA. “I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us. And it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately, and together and apart, and together and apart, and together and apart, trying to navigate, ‘What does this mean? Why did this happen?’”
She also wrote about the loss in her poetry book Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, telling WWDabout the writing process, “That experience was so much harder than I would’ve anticipated it being, and I’ve really analyzed ‘why was that? Why was that so difficult for me?’” she said, adding that she’s had an “ectopic pregnancy” in the past and other “similar issues.”
“But not with someone who I was so in love with,” Fox continued. “And so that love element really made this miscarriage really tragic for me and left me with a lot of grief and a lot of suffering. So I put it into a lot of writing.”
The Transformers star first sparked pregnancy rumors when MGK kissed her belly in his July music video, and she confirmed the news with an edgy maternity photo and close-up of a positive pregnancy test. “nothing is ever really lost. welcome back 👼🏼❤️” she wrote, referencing the baby she had previously lost.
Now, a second source has told Us Weekly that this couple are “on a much better path in their relationship.” “They’ve always been rocky and had their ups and downs,” this source added. “But they have been proactive in therapy and very spiritual and honest with one another.”
MGK himself “has made some huge life changes to be the best partner and parent that he can be,” according to the source.
Meanwhile, a third source confirmed that the duo “are so happy and excited” to expand their family, which also includes Fox’s sons Noah, 11, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 7, with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, and MGK’s daughter Casie, 15, with ex Emma Cannon.
“They feel this is a new chapter for their relationship and a second chance,” the third insider told Us Weekly. “They have gone through a lot together but feel a positive renewed energy and are in a good place right now.”
