Little Golden Book & Funko Pop! Are Releasing a Gilmore Girls Collab & Yes, We’re Screaming

That’s right! Little Golden Book is taking a trip to Stars Hollow, and we are not OK. The beloved collection is releasing a Gilmore Girls-inspired book in the new year, and — as if that wasn’t exciting enough! — they’re collaborating with Funko Pop! for the story’s illustrations. This means beloved characters like Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Emily, and Richard will look like the iconic Funko Pop! figurines that people can’t get enough of.

The figurines are so popular, in fact, that Gilmore Girls Funko Pops are now a collector’s item that fly off shelves and can cost fans a pretty penny on eBay and at select retailers.

But at just six bucks, Gilmore Girls: A Stars Hollow Celebration! is one of the most affordable collector’s items out there.

The beyond-adorable read follows the Gilmores as they enjoy the different festivals in their quaint New England town of Stars Hallow. And now all we want to do is give it a read while sipping a hot cup of coffee at the infamous Luke’s Diner. We’re so excited that we think it’s safe to say we need this book as badly as Lorelai Gilmore needs coffee. (As the single mom so perfectly put it, “I can’t stop drinking the coffee. I stop drinking the coffee, I stop doing the standing, walking, and words-putting-into-sentence-doing.”)

Unfortunately, this Little Golden Book doesn’t hit shelves until January, which, as the beloved Sookie St. James would say, makes us incredibly “smad.” (“So mad and so sad!”) We’re just thanking our lucky stars (hollow!) that it’s available for pre-order.

Gilmore Girls: A Stars Hollow Celebration!

If you’re unfamiliar with Little Golden Book, it’s practically an institution. The American classic has been a childhood staple since 1942 and includes a variety of classic tales, stories about popular characters, and prestigious biographies. Their recent releases include a Friends collaboration with Funko Pop! that we had to pivot (*wink, wink*) and buy, another about The Office that is as much about learning to count as it is about the sitcom, and a bestselling biography of Taylor Swift for Swifties of all ages.

Now we can’t help but wonder if Stars Hollow’s Paris Geller will get a Little Golden Book biography of her own. We all know she was prepping for it. “I want to live my life so that I’ll be able to read an in-depth biography about myself in later years and not puke,” Rory Gilmore’s frenemy famously said. Her actions were definitely questionable, but we’d be willing to feel queasy if it meant another Gilmore Girls Little Golden Book was on the horizon!

We celebrate strong women every day! Here are the books about some of the most iconic.
