Kaley Cuoco has a lot in common with her 19-month-old daughter Matilda, who she shares with fiancé Tom Pelphrey. Their big, gorgeous eyes, love of horses, fun-loving spirits! Despite basically being her mom’s mini-me, though, the toddler is actually a Daddy’s girl through and through. The Based on a True Story star just gave the sweetest update about her daughter, and it’s nice to see that some things never change.
In an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Showthis week, host Kelly Clarkson gushed over Matilda’s moniker, which she calls “the best name ever.” (So agree!) Then, Clarkson asked for an update about the toddler, and Cuoco confirmed she’s still all about her dad.
“She is into everything,” Cuoco said. “She loves airplanes, so she thought going on the plane [to New York] was going to be the coolest thing in the world.”
Cuoco added, “She loves animals. She loves her Dada, oh boy!” She even shared the drastic measures Matilda would take for her dad. “Let me tell you, she would push me into a burning fire to get to her Dada,” The Flight Attendant star said. “’Dada, Dada!’ Everything is ‘Dada!’”
“They’re very much in love. I know, it’s kind of amazing. And he would possibly push me into a flame to get to her too,” Cuoco quipped.
That is the most adorable thing, ever, although I’m sure it’s hard for Cuoco to see her baby constantly choosing her partner over her. Matilda isn’t even impressed by her mom’s fame. “Big Bang was on the other day, and I had it on the TV, and the song was on, the opening credits…” The Big Bang Theory star told Clarkson. “She loves music. Anytime a song comes on, she dances.”
Cuoco added, “So it was on, and she looked up and she started doing her shoulder thing, and I was on the first scene. I said, ‘Who is that?’ And she goes, ‘Mama!’ and then just kept walking. So, she saw it and moved on. She’s still a little young, so I’ll have to see when she gets older what she thinks about it.” There’s nothing like kids to keep you humble!
In an interview with PEOPLE in September, Cuoco shared that her daughter also enjoys “running around” and “screaming” (as toddlers do). “She eats everything. She loves being outside. She loves her dad. She’s kind of like a [tom]boy,” Cuoco continued. “She loves airplanes and monster trucks, helicopters. Anything in the sky she thinks is the most amazing thing. And she loves horses, so that’s great.”
