It’s the most wonderful time of the year — or the most stressful. Especially if you are dealing with a complicated co-parenting situation. Everyone wants the best holiday season for their kids, obviously, but we also (somewhat selfishly) want to be the ones that makes that holiday magic happen. This looks different for every family, but co-parenting pros Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have seemingly figured out how to seamlessly celebrate Christmas with their kids in a way that makes everyone happy. And according to sources, it’s repeating a pattern the exes started over Thanksgiving.
The 13 Going on 30 star, who shares Violet, 19, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, with Affleck, are reportedly planning on spending Christmas Day together. A source told Page Six, “Jen and Ben typically split their time with the kids over the holidays but Jen offered to spend Christmas all together with Ben if he would like.”
It sounds perfect for the parents and the kids! Garner and Affleck have remained close since their split in 2015 after 13 years of marriage, and they seem to be especially connected after Affleck’s split from wife Jennifer Lopez earlier this year. On Thanksgiving, the Argo star went with Garner and their three kids to volunteer at the Midnight Mission in downtown Los Angeles before enjoying a meal at Garner’s home. Ahead of the holiday, an insider told PEOPLE that Affleck is “very happy with life.” They added, “He enjoys working. He’ll spend Thanksgiving with his kids.”
Apparently, that blended holiday went well, as Affleck and Garner are planning a repeat for Christmas. Page Six’s insider told the outlet, “Christmas is one of Jen’s favorite holidays and she would love for the family to be together as often as possible for these occasions.”
“Jen and Ben have a really friendly coparenting relationship and she knows the kids had a wonderful time being together with both parents on Thanksgiving,” the source added.
Previously, a different source told Page Sixthat the Batman star feels like he “can just be himself” around Garner. “Even though Ben and Jen have been split for a while now, he feels a certain level of comfort with her,” the insider added. “Ben has a strong relationship with Jen that will never dissipate because they have a lot of history together and she’s the mother of his kids.”
We love seeing exes come together to make their kids a priority, and once again, Garner and Affleck are the prime example of successful co-parenting!
