Beyoncé’s Daughter Blue Stunned in a Golden Gown for ‘Mufasa’ Premiere: ‘My Gorgeous Baby Girl’

Blue Ivy Carter looked positively regal at the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King on Dec. 9. The 12-year-old joined her parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z on the red carpet at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and she lit up the night with her shiny gold gown.

In photos from the event, Blue posed like a pro in a jaw-dropping Christian Siriano dress with a long train and a strapless sweetheart neckline. Her curly brown hair hung loose down her back, and she paired the look with neutral nails, striking eyeshadow, and red lipstick. Blue, who plays Princess Kiara in the film premiering Dec. 20, posed next to her mom, who stars as Queen Nala in the sequel to the 2019 film, The Lion King. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the Grammy winner’s strapless black Balmain gown with metallic gold discs is from a special collection designed by Olivier Rousteing earlier this year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Disney classic.

The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer posted two photos of her eldest daughter from the event and wrote a heartfelt tribute. “My gorgeous baby girl. This is your night,” Beyoncé, who also shares 7-year-old twins Remi and Sir with Jay-Z, wrote on Instagram. “You worked hard and you did such a beautiful job as the voice of Kiara.”

“Your family could not be prouder. Keep shining,” she added.

Celebrities and fans took to the comments to praise Blue. Khloé Kardashian commented, “She is gorgeous!! Such a special moment ✨✨✨✨” Jenna Dewan said, “❤️🥹.”

“🥹🥹 thank you for always teaching her resilience, letting her go and shine on her night. She looks so gorgeous we are so proud of you blue,” another person wrote.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Beyoncé and Blue shared an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of Mufasa: The Lion King. “We’re here today recording ‘The Lion King,’” Beyoncé says in the video shared on Instagram.

At one point, Beyoncé and Blue are in the recording booth together, and you can hear Blue tell her mama, “Don’t stare at me!”

“I can’t help it. You’re just too beautiful, girl,” she responded, adding that she’s just going to “be right here closing my eyes.” Aww!

Later in the video, Blue narrates, “If I, like, told my younger self that I was going to be in a movie, I’d like never believe myself.”

“Well, you are girl!” Beyoncé interrupts. “You are!”

“Seeing Blue as Kiara and hearing her voice come out of that character …” the “Halo” singer said, trailing off as she held back tears. “Give me a second, because I’m still just. I can’t believe that’s my baby,” she added with a laugh. “That’s so amazing,” she went on, wiping away tears, and now we are getting emotional too. Later, she tells the camera she’s “so proud” of her daughter.

“This is just a great experience for me and I’m really happy for girls that look like me all around the world are able to watch this movie and hear and see themselves in it,” Blue told GMA.

“She did such a beautiful job, and I can’t believe how natural she is. And, I’m just proud of you. I’m proud of you, and I can’t believe how big and grown up you are,” Beyoncé tells her daughter. “And I’m proud that she’s going to represent so many young, Brown girls around the world. Nobody’s prouder than Mommy.”

Blue’s dad Jay-Z (born Shawn Carter) was also at the premiere last night, dressed in a brown suit with a dark green tie. This outing came just one day after the rapper was accused of sexual assault of a minor at a 2000 MTV Video Awards after-party with rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs, which Jay-Z vehemently denied in a lengthy statement. He said in part, “My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”

“I mourn yet another loss of innocence,” he continued. “Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.”
