Bindi Irwin’s Daughter Grace Celebrated the ‘Magic of the Holiday’ With a Special Zoo Animal

Everyone has their own holiday traditions, but Bindi Irwin’s family might have one of the coolest. They spend Christmas Day with wildlife, of course! The Crikey! It’s the Irwins star shared new pictures of their festive celebration, including adorable snaps of her 3-year-old daughter Grace Warrior playing with a kangaroo.

“Merry Christmas from @australiazoo. ❤️” Bindi, who shares Grace with husband Chandler Powell, captioned the post. “Cherishing the magic of the holiday season with our beautiful Grace.”

In the first photo, Grace wears a pink Christmas dress featuring a vintage holiday carousel with Christmas trees and snow. She paired it with a floral bucket hat (it is summer in Australia, after all!) and a beaded necklace. She held a little plush duck in one hand as she hung out with her parents outside. A curious kangaroo is staring straight at the camera, making it look like he’s taking the family selfie, and it couldn’t be more on-brand for this sweet family!

The kangaroo lies in a shady spot of grass in the second photo, leaning toward Grace as she crouches down to offer a snack to the animal. She has the biggest grin on her face as she stares into the kangaroo’s eyes. It’s not hard at all to see how magical this holiday is.

Although this Irwin holiday moment is a little unusual (you probably won’t see many families hanging out with kangaroos this Christmas!), the wildlife conservationists also enjoyed a classic holiday tradition: decorating gingerbread cookies!

Grace looks extremely focused with her hair pulled back and her eyes squinting as she squeezes icing with both hands in the snap. Hey, decorating is serious work! Bindi smiles next to her, decorating her own cookie, and Powell is on the other side of his wife, focused on a circle cookie. The last slide shows the finished designs, including Grace’s smiley-faced cookie covered in rainbow sprinkles and set out on a plate for Santa.

“Best Christmas ever!” Bindi’s mom Terri Irwin commented. Someone else wrote, “Oh her little scrunched up face 🥹🤍 Merry Christmas 🎄” So sweet!

Terri also shared a family photo this week, featuring her and her son Robert Irwin, 21, Bindi holding Grace, and Powell smiling in the back. Grace looks adorable in her pink bucket hat with Minnie Mouse ears, clutching a Mickey Mouse plush toy in her arms. Their sunny smiles bring so much warmth over to this side of the world!

“Celebrating family time. 💛” Terri captioned the post. Bindi commented, “So thankful ❤️”
