Demi Moore Won Her First Golden Globe — & Her Family’s Real-Time Reaction Will Bring You to Tears

While Demi Moore walked the Golden Globes red carpet and then [we have to assume] nervously awaited the results for her category, her family was on the edge of their seats at home.

Thankfully, someone had the foresight to set up a camera facing the couches, because when the 62-year-old won her first ever Golden Globe Award for “Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Film,” her daughters and friends went absolutely wild. And rightfully so!

The priceless moment — which is the most amazing mix of both tearjerking and heartwarming — was posted on Instagram by all her daughters (Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah) who she shares with ex-husband Bruce Willis and her friends who were there for the viewing party. As soon as Moore’s name is called for her performance in The Substance, everyone leaps into the air (LEAPS! Some of them from the floor!) with their arms raised. There’s a chorus of well-deserved cheers, clapping, and kisses. Plus, there are looks of pure gratitude and joy (Well, except for Moore’s confused and unfazed granddaughter Louetta). The whole thing truly gave us goosebumps.

“SHE DID IT 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭,” Scout captioned the joint Instagram post before commenting, “😭😭😭😭😭😭 this is a huge win for EVERYONE.”

Followers were so touched by the video, writing things like, “This is the best! Seeing the real people home cheering on their FAMILY!!! Epic! 😍👏,” “This is everything. What a moment for the family,” and “Best speech!! Best support system!!! 👏👏 love this win!”

So many fans were moved by Moore’s speech, in which she acknowledged that after 45 years of acting, this is the first time she’s ever won an award. Let that sink in for a second. Moore has been in this industry for nearly four decades and, until now, has never gotten the recognition that so many people live for. A lot of other actors and actresses would have (and have!) thrown in the towel.

“I’m just so humbled and so grateful,” she said in her speech, per People. “I had a woman say to me, ‘Just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick.’”

“And so today, I celebrate this as a marker of my wholeness and of the love that is driving me and for the gift of doing something I love and being reminded that I do belong,” she continued.

Ahead of her inspirational win, Moore spoke with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet and gushed about being a mom and grandma. “Ultimately that is what’s most important because all of this without that would be not quite as rich or as sweet but the balance of it is perfection,” she said.
