As wildfires continue to rage across Los Angeles — which so far have killed at least 25 people and destroyed more than 12,300 structures, per NBC — many celebrities have shared ways to support relief efforts and donated money to help. Jeannie Mai is the latest star to give back, and she brought her adorable daughter Monaco to help. The 3-year-old is a bright spot in these scary times as she helps her community in new photos.
The Emmy-winning TV host shared a post encouraging people to volunteer at the nonprofit organization the Los Angeles Dream Center, which offers support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, and the lack of education through residential and community outreach programs. In the first photo, Monaco hugs her mom in the sorting area, dressed adorably in a brown long-sleeve shirt and jeans. The toddler is glowing with the sweetest smile on her face that’ll warm your heart. You can tell that she is having the best time with her mom giving back!
Mai also included videos in the carousel of her helping sort different things that she donated to the cause (including her stunning “yachting outfit!”). In one, Mai lifts a huge trash bag in the sorting area as someone points out what Monaco is doing. “Jeannie, you’re so right. Look at Coco sorting her stuff,” someone said.
Another added, “She wants that!” the camera pans over to show Monaco cuddling up with a fuzzy brown blanket that she found in the pile. She just wants to go shopping! Really, who can blame her? This toddler is just too cute for words.
“Volunteers are needed to help sort through the many bags of donations to help distribute them as quickly as possible to these families in need,” Mai captioned the post. “Address below to pull up. They are open till sundown. If you can’t volunteer, please just donate! List on the last side of exactly what items are needed in usable condition. IF YOU WOULDNT DONATE IT TO YOUR BESTIE, PLEASE DONT DONATE IT AT ALL❤️”
“You are one of GOD’S CHOSEN VESSELS ❤️❤️😇😇 and your little girl is gonna ALWAYS remember how brave and strong and generous and most of all compassionate her mommy is,” one person commented on the post. “YOU are such a beautiful ❤️ and a excellent example of what goodness looks like 👏👏👏”
Another wrote, “I absolutely love that you have Coco out there with you, and showing her how to be selfless and wanting to help other people in need.”
“What a blessing to share this moment with Coco teaching her to care for others in their time of need 🥹🫶❤️,” someone else commented.
Earlier this week, Mai shared a video recap of her and Monaco’s time at the LA Dream Center. “Monaco and I had the privilege of volunteering with this incredible organization @ladreamcenter , helping families affected by the LA fires,” The Real host wrote on Instagram.
In Mai’s video, she says, “Dream Center has been empowering underserved communities in LA for over 30 years. We came here because I used to donate after church and the people are incredible,” Mai says in the clip. Monaco chimes in with her sweet, raspy voice, “the volunteers are so nice!” Aww!
The toddler helped her mom pass out toilet paper, toothbrushes, and other essentials to people in need. She also donated her own bag of toys to the cause. “It was very difficult to give my puppy away, but I’m glad I did,” Monaco says in a voiceover as she handed over her stuffed animal and other toys to a mom of six kids. She has such a sweet heart!
Monaco turned 3 recently, and she shared pictures of her confetti-filled New Year’s Eve party on Instagram, along with a sweet caption written from her perspective (with a little help from her mama, of course).
“Yup, I’m 3 now … so basically grown. Year 2 was wild — I shredded the slopes on my first snowboard, stamped my passport so much it needs a nap, & became a foodie (still deciding on dulce tamarindo.) ANDD I’m offish a diaper-free diva 😎,” they wrote.
“Ngl, I was hesitant to leave my life as a baby. Baby life was bomb—naps were non-negotiable. Now? I’m out here fightin’ for my right to stay up past bedtime 😤,” it continued. “So I get nervous when Mommy teaches me about new experiences but Mommy says being brave means believing in yourself—even when the world feels uncertain. So 2025 … I’m comin’ in HOT! 🔥”
