When you plan your life (and your sanity!) around your toddler’s naptime, it’s important that they get every second of sleep that they can. To ensure that her son Tristan, who turns 2 this month, has a good nap, Heather Rae El Moussa enlisted the help of her stepkids. Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, who Heather Rae’s husband Tarek El Moussa shares with ex-wife Christina Haack, engaged in a sweet sibling activity to help. The Flip Off star shared a new video of her blended familyon Instagram. “Extra grateful for these moments right now,” she captioned the post, referring to the wildfires that have been raging in California. “❤️ our little family,” she added.
In the video, Heather Rae gives a clue as to how Tristan’s naptimes are a family affair. “Nothing like the whole family to help wear out Tristan before a nap time,” text over the video read. This is arguably the most important step — if your kid isn’t tired, then chances are, they won’t sleep for long (if at all!). Thankfully, her stepkids were there to help.
They got toy cars out to play together, which are arranged mostly neatly on the floor, and then they decided to play a game with a big blue balloon (like “Keepy Uppy” from Bluey!). The whole family is gathered in the living room in a circle, with Tristan on his mom’s hip, Brayden in-between Heather Rae and his dad, and Taylor with her back to the camera, standing next to her dad and stepmom. They work together to toss the balloon back and forth and keep it off the floor, and it’s so cute!
After some more playing (and some hugs and kisses!), Heather Rae walks Tristan up the stairs for his nap. It looks like such a normal family day. When siblings get along like this, our hearts soar!

“Such a sweet family but something tells me Tristan will out-tire everyone,” someone else predicted, and yep, that checks out! Hey, at least they tried!
In the past, Heather Rae has called her and Tarek’s blended family “perfectly imperfect.” “Our family of 5 ❤️,” she captioned a photo on Instagram in July 2023. “Perfectly imperfect, crazy, loud, filled with so much love and laughter, lots of smiles, never dull…”
“Love them so much and can’t imagine our life without them,” she continued, adding that their family vacation “ was amazing,” but her favorite part was the picture. “Getting a photo of all of us was the cherry on top 🥰❤️.”
