Bindi Irwin Reveals Daughter Grace’s Favorite Part of Her Mom’s New Project & It’s No Surprise

Kids don’t understand fame (unless you’re a princess or Ms. Rachel, of course). But if your family is made up of world-famous wildlife conservationists, well, that’s just another day for 3-year-old Grace Warrior. She doesn’t know any different, after all! Still, even celebrity kids aren’t immune to seeing themselves doing something cool — like seeing a cartoon version of yourself in a real-life picture book! Grace’s mom Bindi Irwin wrote a new children’s book starring Grace, and the toddler is so excited about one specific part of it.

Just not the part you’re thinking…

Instead of being fascinated by seeing herself, Grace is more excited about seeing her beloved zoo creatures in print!

In an Instagram Q&A, the Australia Zoo CEO revealed that Grace “loves” her mom’s new book, You Are a Wildlife Warrior!, which comes out Feb. 4. “She thinks it’s super cool that she’s in the book,” Bindi wrote on her Instagram story, “but she thinks it’s even more amazing that all her animal friends are featured!”

How cute is that?! This love for animals is all-consuming for Grace, and we aren’t surprised at all that she loves those creatures more than herself. After all, Bindi is always sharing cute photos and videos of Grace helping and loving on animals.

Bindi posted a picture of Grace in her response, where the little girl is smiling with one fist pumping the air and the other petting a koala bear that her dad Chandler Powell is holding. She is so precious, and it’s amazing to see.

On her story, Bindi also shared a picture of her and Grace reading the book, explaining, “This book takes you on a remarkable journey with me and my daughter Grace to experience our conservation work at Australia Zoo and worldwide!”

In another snap, Grace sits on her mom’s lap, smiling in matching khaki. She shared how special this book is to her. “I’ve been working on this special book since Grace was born,” Bindi wrote. “Many years in the making and I’m so excited to finally share it with you!”

Grace isn’t the only one who likes seeing the animals in You Are a Wildlife Warrior!. Someone asked Bindi what her favorite featured animal is, and she shared a picture with the answer: koala bears! “Our gorgeous koalas both at Australia Zoo and the ones we treat at our Wildlife Hospital,” she wrote over a photo of her holding a sweet koala bear.

In an interview with SheKnows in May, Bindi shared that her daughter is already an “animal expert.” “She is 100 percent a Wildlife Warrior. I mean, I think it’s genetic at this point,” Bindi told us with a laugh.

“Her thing is just animals,” Bindi added. “She likes to become an expert on animals. So her new thing is facts. So, she’ll say something like, ‘Koalas eat eucalyptus. That’s a fact.’ And it’s so cute, ‘cause it’s like, you know what? You can’t teach that. That is just who she is.”
