A lot has changed in the seven years since Katy Perry last went on tour — not least of all, the “Firework” singer’s personal life. She hosted seven seasons of American Idol, was named highest-paid female musician by Forbes, and became a mom to now-4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, who she shares with fiancé Orlando Bloom. Now she’s going on tour again — this time with her daughter by her side! — and she’s making one major change.
No, it’s not a change in lyrics or her famously risqué costumes. (Thankfully!!) Instead, Perry is changing up her tour schedule to accommodate moms!
“I’m excited to start my show at 8:30 because I now understand firsthand how long bedtime routine takes,” Perry told PEOPLE. Yes! Moms want to jam out to their favorite Perry songs too, but we also need to get to bed. I love that she’s taking it our nightly routine seriously when planning this tour.
The “Roar” singer, who is embarking on her Lifetimes Tour in April to honor her latest album 143, also shared that her daughter is an “extrovert” like her parents. “She’s definitely going to come out and bring her light,” Perry told the outlet. “She is so excited. She’s an extrovert, of course, being raised by two extroverts, and she loves music and she loves Mom’s songs.”
Despite loving Perry’s music, Daisy still doesn’t realize how famous her mama is. “She’s still trying to figure out what the days of the week means,” Perry quipped, adding, “I think she just loves when Mommy’s happy, and I think she really feels our love for her, and she feels safe and encouraged to do and be whatever she wants. And we’re trying to do our best as parents, most definitely.”
Still, going on tour with Perry won’t be Daisy’s first brush with her mom’s fame. After all, she got to see her mom on TV at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in September, where the “Teenage Dream” singer accepted the Video Vanguard Award. In a pre-carpet interview, Perry revealed that her daughter was watching MTV “for the very first time,” adding, “Don’t stay up too late, sweetheart. Eat your broccoli.”
Later, Perry gushed about motherhood. “I feel good. I’ve had my daughter, and it’s changed my whole life,” she said. “I feel a sense of wholeness and more grounded. I’m writing songs from a place of feeling truly empowered. Feeling truly connected to my feminine divine. It’s changed my life for the better.”
These celebrity parents are raising strong, resilient daughters.
