The Batmobile is pretty cool and shooting webs to get around would have its perks, but nothing says superhero quite like a minivan. Yes, a 7+ seater vehicle with sticky cupholders and crunchy floors, sliding doors, and plenty of room for car seats is the ultimate mode of transportation — because who are real-life superheroes besides moms? And if this is the vehicle that allows us to get everything done, then it’s the best, of course! Despite its awesome functionality, inside the van is a different story. It can get a little chaotic in there, especially if you are driving around toddlers and babies (like I said, moms are heroes!). Jenna Dewan just gave followers an inside look into her minivan, and all moms can relate.
The Rookie star shared several photos and videos on Instagram of winter fun with her kids Rhiannon, 7 months, and Callum, 4, who she shares with fiancé Steve Kazee, and her dogs. These included snaps of the family playing in the snow, going to a museum, and getting sweet cuddles at home. But the most relatable moment happened on slide six, which shows what utter torture the inside of a van can be in just a few seconds.
In the selfie video, Dewan gives a “get-me-outta-here!” look to the camera, as her baby girl screams from the backseat. Music is on to try to distract baby Rhiannon, but it’s clearly not working as she just cries nonstop, making Dewan wince. Callum can be seen in the background as well. He’s buckled into his car seat and eating from a bag of chips, just minding his own business and looking out the window. At least she doesn’t have to deal with any toddler meltdowns or fighting while the baby screams!
“Slide 6 — it’s giving the 300 days of January,” she quipped in the caption. As a mom whose been there (and is currently still there!), I totally get where she’s coming from. The long winter months with school breaks and post-holiday sugar highs can feel never-ending. But all you can do is lean into the humor and commiserate with other moms!
People in the comments felt her pain too. “how is it still january slide 6 is just real,” one person wrote. Someone else said, “Man-slide 6 is so relatable.”
Despite the challenges of motherhood, Dewan is embracing it. The Step Up alum, who is also mom to daughter Everly, 11, with ex-husband Channing Tatum, opened up about her parenting philosophy in an April interview with E! News.
“I let them be who they are and I try to just guide them gently without putting my own agenda on them,” she said. “I really just try to watch them and learn from them and guide them. If you are conscious about it, you can start to see that they are reflecting back to you all aspects and different aspects and it’s like a prism of yourself. So it’s like a very beautiful and incredible learning, growing relationship.”
Spoken like a true supermom.
