Beyoncé Reveals the Milestone Blue Ivy Reached That She Doesn’t Like ‘At All’

Beyoncé experienced a rollercoaster of emotions at the 2025 Grammy Awards. She was downright shocked to hear she won Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter. So much so, that she became an instant meme, and her 13-year-old daughter Blue Ivy — who she shares with husband Jay-Z along with 7-year-old twins Rumi and Sir — had to remind her to go up and accept her 34th Grammy.

She later won Album of the Year for the same revolutionary album and went up to accept the award with Blue Ivy by her side. After giving her speech, Beyoncé turned to her daughter and clearly said, “I love you, baby,” before giving her a teary-eyed embrace

And while the night was undoubtedly filled with tremendous joy, she was also reminded of Blue Ivy’s milestone that the mom of three is not a fan of.

“She’s taller than me, I don’t like it at all,” Beyoncé joked with Entertainment Tonight after the show.

Wow! While the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer stands at 5’6″ tall, her daughter is believed to be at least an inch taller, according to StyleCaster. Given that the teen’s dad is 6’2″, we wouldn’t be surprised if she continues to gain inches on her mom.

And that is indeed a mindblowing and bittersweet moment for parents to realize that their baby (their baby!) is bigger than them. Beyoncé now literally looks up to her eldest.

Queen Bey then gave a shoutout to her daughter Rumi who made her recording debut on the song “Protector” from Cowboy Carter.

“She’s at home watching and I forgot to thank her so I get to thank her now, thank you Rumi,” she told ET.

Blue Ivy has been performing with her mom for quite some time now. In 2023, the then-tween joined her mom on her Renaissance World Tour, quickly stepping up her game after the trolls came after her dance skills. More recently, she joined her mom during a highly-anticipated NFL halftime show on Christmas Day.

“This performance was very important to her. She didn’t want to embarrass herself or her mom,” a source told the Daily Mail. “She loves the possibilities she has in her future to record more music, with and without her parents, and she is looking forward to the next several years to cut out the artist she wants to be.”

An artist who, perhaps one day, will have to be reminded by her mom to go receive her own Grammy.
