Alicia Keys’ Sons Lean Into Their Emerging Signature Styles on the Grammys Red Carpet

During the 2025 Grammys, Alicia Keys was honored with the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. It’s a really big deal, and so it’s no wonder that she brought her family with her to celebrate this momentous occasion. The “Empire State of Mind” singer walked the red carpet with her mom Terria Joseph, her husband Swizz Beatz, and two of their sons: Egypt, 14 and Genesis, 10. And just like always, they showed up in style.

In fact, it seemed like the brothers were leaning into what could end up being their signature styles. In June, the duo walked the Tonys red carpet alongside their parents, their grandma, and their 18-year-old half-brother Kasseem Jr.

Beatz and Keys are also dad and stepmom to kids Prince Nasir, 24 and Nicole, 16 who were not in attendance.

For both red carpets, Genesis rocked a sleek and classic black tux. Honestly, it might be the same tux! (Celebrities … they’re just like us with the rewear!) The only difference that we can tell is that he wore socks with his slipper-style dress shoes this time around.

As for Egypt, it looks like he is wearing the same slacks and button-down but swapped his suit jacket for a casual yet stylish leather bomber jacket that’s more reminiscent of the sparkly white jacket he wore during his tear-jerking performance with his mom during the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards. It’s clear the kid is all about a statement jacket!

Though it was Keys who won the Grammy, it was Genesis who stole the show.

From when he thoughtfully carried his mom’s train as they walked into the Arena, to when he joined her on stage for her acceptance speech, it was all too cute to handle. He also met up with some of his favorite celebs, posing with Billie Eilish who he asked to be friends with last March, and dancing with his longtime bestie Taylor Swift.

Keys gave a sweet shoutout to her children when accepting the award with her youngest by her side. “My beautiful kids Egypt, Genesis, KJ, Nicki, Nas [thank you] for sharing me with the world,” she said.

She also threw shade at the Trump administration and the president’s efforts to end Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

“DEI is not a threat, it’s a gift. And the more voices, the more powerful the sound,” she said, per The Hill. “When destructive forces try to burn us down, we rise from the ashes like a phoenix. … So let’s keep showing up with compassion, with empathy.”

Because Keys is certainly showing up with compassion, with empathy, and with the most supportive (and stylish!) kiddos a parent could ever ask for.

These celebrity parents have been candid about how they teach their kids about racism.
