Andy Cohen is all in his feels, and now we are too! The Bravo host is celebrating his sassy son Ben’s sixth birthday (!!!), and he just shared an ultra-sweet birthday tribute.
“6 years ago today, his life began and so did mine….,” Cohen wrote, and now we’re wondering who started cutting onions! Because our eyes are definitely tearing up. (It’s when his life started too?!?!?! C’mon! How cute!)
“Happy Birthday Ben! ” the proud dad continued.
Alongside the touching caption, Cohen posted a throwback photo that’s too precious for words. (But, words are what I do, so here goes nothing … )
The priceless picture is seemingly from the hospital where little Ben was born via surrogate. The red-faced newborn is lying in a hospital bassinet with the classic pink-and-blue beanie on his head, a hospital bracelet around his ankle, and a big ol’ diaper that barely covers what’s left of Ben’s umbilical cord. He stares intently at his dad, who is leaning down and staring at his son with a huge smile on his face.
Fans were moved by Cohen’s post, filling his comment section with good wishes for his big ol’ six-year-old! “Very sweet sentiment, Andy. Happy birthday to Ben! 🎂,” TV personality Austen Kroll wrote.
“Hope you have THE BEST day [Ben]!!!!” one follower said. “And today, celebrate you, @bravoandy because your journey as a father began! You are doing such a great job with your children!!!”
Another person was not surprised to learn that Ben’s birthday is today. “Listening to your radio show and getting to know him through your stories He’s SUCH an Aquarius,” they said.
And I’m not a card-carrying Astrology Girly, but I do know that Aquariuses (Aquarii?!) are known for being rebellious and independent.
And yup, that just about sums up Ben’s vibe. He always has a counterpoint for his dad’s statements. Late last year, Cohen tried to come up with New Years Resolutions with Ben and his 2-year-old daughter Lucy. And the single dad just can’t catch a break.
Ben — who has a historically rocky relationship with summer camp — immediately said he doesn’t want to go to camp in 2025. When the only thing Lucy wanted to do in 2025 was “umm … running,” Cohen took over.
“My New Year’s resolution for something fun that I want to do with you next year is to build a lot of LEGOs with you guys and swim in the ocean with you guys,” he said. And that’s when things went south. Ben quickly vetoed swimming, saying there are sharks in the ocean. Cohen insisted that wasn’t true given where they go swimming, but Mr. Aquarius wasn’t having it.
“Oh my god, you’re lying,” Ben said.
“No, I don’t lie to you,” Cohen said. “I would never do that, it’s not in my best interest.”
Lucy, having thought it over and being nudged by her brother, then piped in. “I don’t want sharks,” she said nervously.
*Sigh*
“Ben’s influence 🤣,” Khloé Kardashian commented. “🤣🤣🤣🤣”
He really is an influential little guy! So much so, that he changed his dad’s “birthday.”
