Shocked and delighted is the only way to describe our reaction to seeing Serena Williams’ special cameo during Kendrick Lamar’s performance of “Not Like Us” during the Super Bowl halftime show last night. But she wouldn’t have looked so good without the help of her mini manager — 7-year-old Olympia Ohanian!
The 23-time Grand Slam champion looked stunning in a blue mini skirt and matching blue shirt over a white tank top as she did the “Crip Walk,” a dance move with intricate footwork created in Compton in the ‘70s, per Forbes. (The NFL shared a clip of the iconic moment on Twitter, and we are obsessed!) After the appearance, Williams took to Instagram to share a little behind-the-scenes moment with her eldest daughter, who she shares with husband Alexis Ohanian.
“Rehearsals anyone?” she captioned the post. In it, Williams is hanging out in a rehearsal room, dressed in the mini skirt and a black workout top, with her curly blonde hair hanging loose around her shoulders. In the first picture, she cocks her head to look at her daughter, who has one hand on her mom’s wrist and a serious expression on her face as she gives her mom some coaching. It’s clear this girl means business!
Olympia, who looks adorable with a white graphic t-shirt and black-and-white patterned flare pants, also fixes her mom’s hair and watches her mom practices the dance on stage. Her mom worked hard, but Olympia worked harder overseeing everything. At the end, Williams plays with her daughter’s hair, then gets defensive when Olympia levels her with a sassy look that says, “now is not the time to play, Mom.”
Many people commented on the sweet photos, including one who wrote, “Mommy is just rehearsing for the Super Bowl 🤯🤯 what even is your life 💜💜💜💜.” Someone else wrote, “She’s giving mom some notes.”

Olympia finally got to relax while watching her mom perform with her dad. The Reddit co-founder shared a photo of Olympia watching the game with him. “Super Halftime Show,” he captioned the cute photo.
This time, Olympia is dressed in a black sparkly shirt and a colorful “Adore You” shirt, with her hair up in two buns as she watches the field with an iPad in her lap. OK, maybe she isn’t done taking notes yet. But who can blame her? Working hard clearly runs in the family!
