Nobody tells President Donald Trump what to do — except for, apparently, Elon Musk’s 4-year-old son X Æ A-Xii “X.” The child sassily gave Trump a message in the Oval Office that has now gone viral for the funny things he seemed to say to the 47th president.
X, who Musk shares with ex Grimes, attended Trump’s recent executive order signing event with his dad. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO fielded questions from reporters on the Department of Government Efficiency “DOGE,” while Trump sat stoically at his desk. When X wasn’t busy climbing on his dad’s shoulders or picking his nose, he gave Trump a directive that has us cackling, according to a now-viral video. (See the clip on Newsweek.)
As Musk talks to reporters, X leans into Trump and reportedly tells him, “You’re not the president and you need to go away.” Yikes! For people who have remarked that Musk is acting like the president (including Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz), this statement feels eerily prophetic. But also, it’s so dang funny. Imagine telling Trump to his face that he’s not president? He still can’t admit that he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden!
Trump either didn’t hear the kid or just chose to ignore him as he continues to just stare straight ahead in the clip. In another video, shared by Newsweek, X reportedly tells Trump to “shush your mouth.” Yes sir! This 4-year-old is our hero.
Others thought X said something like, “I need to pee.” It’s hard to know for sure, but regardless of what he actually said, one thing is clear: Grimes didn’t know her son was going to attend this presidential moment.
“He should not be in public like this,” Grimes, who also shares kids Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2, with Musk, wrote on X (formerly Twitter), per E! News. “I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
Despite X’s comments to the president, Trump seems to like the little one. He told reporters at the beginning of the event, per TODAY, “This is X, and he’s a great guy. High IQ. He’s a high IQ individual.”
X is smart and sassy, and we love him for it!
