Taking impromptu pictures with your baby is a rite of passage for moms — especially when they look so sweet and snuggly in their PJs. It’s such a normal thing to do, but for some reason, Paris Hilton sparked backlash for doing just that with her 2-year-old son Phoenix. She shared several glamorous photos of her and Phoenix that drew ridiculous criticism from mom-shamers.
“Cuddle time with Baby P before heading to the #WhiteLotus Season 3 premiere! 🌺✨💖 #SlivingMom,” The Simple Life alum wrote on Instagram yesterday. She shared several glamorous pictures of her dressed up in a cream, sparkly gown for the event. She looked beautiful and ready to head out to the premiere of White Lotus Season 3, but first, she had to take photos with Phoenix!
The toddler looks adorable in cute construction-themed pajamas as he smiles at his mama, points out sparkles on her dress, and poses for photos. With his big eyes and sweet smile, Phoenix looks exactly like Hilton’s twin. (See the photos HERE.) While some people might see this as a sweet mother-son moment (because it is!), others took offense for the most absurd reasons.
“Imagine the make up and lighting team setting up in your room so your mom can take pics with you before bed 😂 what?!” one person said. Um, what? They are clearly not taking pictures in a baby’s bedroom. The lighting is for Hilton getting her makeup and hair done for the event, which is obviously in a room that contains no baby cribs. Hilton is just taking a few snaps with Phoenix right before she goes off to the red carpet. It’s really not that big of a deal!
Others complained that she only posted pictures with Phoenix and not her 15-month-old daughter, London. Like this person, who said, “Why are there only pics of you holding P and hardly ever your daughter.” Another wrote, “Does anybody else not noticed this as well? How she never has pics of her daughter or her holding her daughter? We can tell already who’s the favorite child.”
Maybe London was asleep or sick or didn’t want to take a photo? I didn’t realize there was some unwritten rule that moms had to take pictures with all of her kids, or she’s not allowed to take any photos at all. Seriously, people need to log off the internet if things like this make them mad!
Even though Hilton doesn’t owe anyone anything, for the record, she does post photos and videos of her daughter, too. Earlier this week, she shared a heartwarming video of both of her babies, who she shares with husband Carter Reum. In it, she’s rocking Phoenix when London comes over to climb in her mom’s lap too. She just rocks them and kisses their heads in this sweet pre-bedtime moment.
