Jeannie Mai’s Daughter Monaco Shows off Her Bilingual Prowess in Brilliant Valentine’s Day Video

Jeannie Mai and her sweet daughter Monaco just made the cutest Valentine’s Day cards for their loved ones, and we’re definitely taking notes.

In the video, the TV personality and her raspy-voiced 3-year-old have a little photoshoot where Monaco is rocking a pink tutu dress and holding a long tube (that will “make sense later”). They then went to their local Staples to print the pictures onto adhesive labels. The mother-daughter duo also got some pink and red construction paper and cut it into rectangles slightly larger than the photo.

Back at their little workshop, Mai asked her daughter in Vietnamese, “Would you like to start with red or pink [paper].”

“Red,” Monaco confidently responded in Vietnamese.

“You peel the backing off,” Mai continues in her native language before she and “Coco” count to three in Vietnamese and stick the picture onto the red paper.

“Make sure you stick it well,” Monaco — who Mai shares with ex-husband Jeezy — told followers in English.

“You need a grown-up,” the toddler added before her mom explained in Vietnamese that an adult will use a box cutter to cut a slit at the top and bottom of the tube in the photo. You can then slide a lollipop right in so it looks like your little cutie is holding the sweet treat via the tube. How adorable and genius is that?!

In Vietnamese, Coco tells her mom she’ll give her a pink “lolly” for the DIY Valentine’s Day card.

The whole thing is so *ahem* sweet, and the way Coco can seamlessly transition from one language to another is seriously impressive.

Followers felt the same way. One person commented, “So beautiful 🥹 I love hearing her speak Vietnamese!!! ♥️”

“I love love love Coco so smart and bilingual on top of it ❤️,” another added.

Last month, Coco celebrated her third birthday, albeit a little unconventionally.

“The beginning of January was not at all what I had imagined,” Mai captioned an Instagram post, talking about how she and her daughter did not expect to spend the start of the year preparing to evacuate and helping those impacted by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. Coco’s actual birthday “quietly came and went” while they focused on staying safe and supporting their community. But three weeks later, Coco and her loved ones gathered for a Paw Patrol-themed birthday party.

Monaco was the cutest fashionista in her double denim ‘fit, and she was so excited when her favorite character, Rubble, stopped by.

“It felt so symbolic that the day after Monaco’s party, LA received its first rain of the year—reminding us of hope and renewal after such challenging times,” Mai wrote in her touching caption. “Even in the midst of life’s challenges, it’s never too late to celebrate the moments that matter most🎂☔️🐾✨”
