Jeannie Mai’s daughter Monaco is the apple of her eye, and her latest post shows the beautiful bond they share.
On Feb 15, Mai shared a heartfelt letter to her daughter Monaco, leaving fans in tears. She shared the photos with the caption reading, “Having a daughter is like watching my own childhood play out in the most cinematic way—only this time, I get to hold the little hand I once needed, whisper the words I longed to hear, and create a world where innocence is protected, not challenged. With Monaco, I see myself in every fearless giggle, every curious glance, every wild and unfiltered expression of joy.”
“She reminds me that the girl I once was never left—she’s just been waiting for permission to play again. Motherhood isn’t just about raising her; it’s about reintroducing myself to the parts of me that the world tried to quiet,” she added. “And this time, I’m listening. @monacomaijenkins.”

In the post, we start with a pic of Mai in latex black pants, a SZA and Kendrick Lamar shirt, and a black beanie, sitting next to her daughter Monaco, who’s sticking her tongue out in a pink ballerina look! We see them posing, smiling at one another, and lil Monaco stealing the show with her adorable ballerina moment! We then end with a homemade Valentine’s photo of Monaco in the same look, with the post reading, “You’re my sugar rush! Coco.”
Not only does this sweet photoshoot show their sweet bond, but we just love this heartfelt caption; truly showing how life-changing motherhood can be. Mai has always been open about her motherhood journey, but this truly shows how she’s healing herself to give her and Monaco the best life.
For those who don’t know, back in Jan. 2022, Mai and her ex-husband Jeezy welcomed their daughter Monaco Mai-Jenkins into the world.
During a Nov 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Mai said, “I used to be, well, I still am a boss, I can get it done by myself, but I ain’t that bossy by myself as a mom, I need help.”
She added, “I need my mom giving me advice, I need all the other moms around this area to tell me what you do with a 10-month-old. Every other week there’s some new thing that comes up with her that I got to ask and check about and I call, I listen to my friends and my pediatrician before I listen to the internet or Google. So, I’ve learned that you really need that village.”
