As a 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams is used to commanding the court. But at home, someone else calls the shots: her 18-month-old baby Adira! The tennis legend shared gorgeous new photos with her youngest daughter, who she shares with husband Alexis Ohanian, and it proves that she is already wrapped around her daughter’s little finger.
“My mini mini @adiraohanian wanted to take a dip in the ocean,” Williams wrote on Instagram today. “I could not say no.”
Aww! Whether Adira asked her mom for a family vacay to the beach, or they were already there and she just begged to get in the water, Williams made sure it happened. And based on the photos, we don’t blame her one bit for giving into Adira’s demands!
The mother-daughter duo is surrounded by crystal-clear water and the bluest sky you’ve ever seen on a beach somewhere. Williams looks stunning in a strappy leopard-print string bikini, as she holds her daughter’s hands with their feet in the shallow water. Adira looks cute in a long-sleeve swimsuit with ruffled bottom, with a paci clipped to the front, and little swim shoes on her feet. Williams holds her on her hip in some snaps and holds her hands in others, looking absolutely radiant.
Fans praised Williams’ decision to take Adira to the beach. “Always play in the water with the babies! #memoriesmade,” one person wrote. Another said, “Bad ass mom and 👸🏾 !!!!! LOVE IT!!!🔥🔥🔥”
The Wyn Beauty founder, who also shares daughter Olympia, 7, with Ohanian, opened up about how much her youngest daughter reminds her of herself in a Nov. 2024 interview with PEOPLE. “She’s amazing. I just can’t wait for people to see how amazing she is in her own way,” the proud mama gushed about Adira. “And she’s so special and she’s so tough. She’s just a tough little cookie. And she reminds me a lot of me in that aspect.”
As a younger sister herself to fellow tennis icon Venus Williams, the mom of two makes sure that Adira is always included. “I have a little soft spot for the younger sister, so I’m like, ‘You go girl, you can do it too.’ ” Williams told the outlet. “And I love that.”
She added, “I’m like Olympia, ‘Make sure you share your toys.’ I know what it’s like, I have to stick up for Adira.”
