This Is Why Haylie & Hilary Duff Don’t Share Parenting Advice

Sisters Haylie and Hilary Duff are two peas in a pod; they’ve had each others’ backs since childhood — but there’s one area in which they’ve agreed not to share advice: parenting. Plenty of moms are all too eager to offer advice, and that’s part of the reason they’ve opted to lend support instead. “We try to listen to each other and be there for each other,” Haylie toldPeople. “Everyone has so much advice all the time, so we really just try to support each other whenever we feel like venting or talking something out.”

Haylie went on to add that she never wants to push her ways on Hilary or vice versa.

The sisters recently welcomed daughters of their own: Haylie’s little girl, Lulu Gray joined big sister Ryan Ava, 3-1/2, in June. Just last month, Hilary also gave birth to her second child, Banks Violet. She also has a son, 6-1/2-year-old Luca Cruz.

Haylie told People she and her fiancé were thrilled to learn Ryan would be getting a little sister. “Truthfully, we really wanted another girl. My sister and I have such a special relationship,” she explained. “Ryan could have that bond of sisters.”

The sisters are also looking forward to having their own daughters grow up together — in fact, it’s likely Lulu and Banks will even be in the same grade at school.

“We had a small family growing up, so we’re excited that we’ve got four cousins close in age that can play together,” Haylie said.

Next up, they’ll be tackling Thanksgiving dinner. Hilary is in charge of pies and desserts, while Haylie will put her expertise in the kitchen to good use. The holiday together will undoubtedly be even more special than usual as the family celebrates Lulu and Banks’ first Thanksgiving.
