We’ve got to love it when moms take center stage. Last night’s 2019 Academy Awards ceremony was a veritable momfest, with numerous celebs bringing their mothers as their dates — and others giving beautiful shoutouts to the women who raised them.
Regina King won best supporting actress for If Beale Street Could Talk. Guess who was foremost on her mind? Her mama. Awwww.

Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan made us all melt with his Instagram post: “My mama about to make me have to fight somebody she looking so pretty.” Jordan added, “#PopsIGotYou.”

Amy Adams brought her lookalike sisters and her mom.

Rami Malek, star of Bohemian Rhapsody, won for best actor — and he made sure to adorably thank his mama.
In a heartfelt speech, Oscar winner Rami Malek praises his mom, says he knows his dad is looking down on him, thanks Queen, and says the world "is longing for stories" about people being "unapologetically" themselves.

We think she appreciated the kudos, judging from these photos afterward.

As did Bradley Cooper. His mom, Gloria, joined his partner Irina Shayk, the mother of his child (who is also a badass for sitting through Cooper and Lady Gaga delivering that electric seriously-are-they-more-than-friends performance of “Shallow,” the song that won an Oscar for Gaga).

Yalitza Aparicio was nominated for best actress for Roma and brought her mother to the Oscars too. As Los Angeles Times writer Esmeralda Bermudez reported on Twitter, “An indigenous preK teacher from a far-flung Mexican town, up 4 Best Actress, w/her mother, a domestic worker, walking hand in hand on one of the world’s most powerful and impenetrable stages: the Oscars red carpet.” Boom! That says it all.
Yalitza Aparicio's journey to the #Oscars has been a complete dream. For her, and her mom too. https://t.co/R8iGSNezmp

BlackKklansman producer Jason Blum also included his mom (well, half of her, at least) in a cute tweet on the way to the Oscars.

And hey, even those of us with normal lives found ourselves with serious Mom feels too.
Was embarrassed when my mom asked the server at our restaurant to change from CNN to the Oscars.
But when the whole restaurant started clapping when Regina King won, I started clapping for my mom.
Ask for what you want.

Well, we were there for it… even if Randy Rainbow wasn’t feeling the love.
If I could bottle even half of the awkward cringiness of the #Oscars red carpet, I would sell it as a perfume and call it “Thanksgiving at My Mom’s”

But to be honest? This mom-related Oscar tweet is the one that we relate to the very most (especially this here author, who went to bed at 8:15 p.m.).
i’m honestly totally fine with not watching the oscars tonight because i know my mom will excitedly update me with every quirky moment that happens
