Just when we thought we were excited for back-to-school (and all the structure and routines that come with it), Kate Hudson shares ethereal summer photos of her 4-year-old daughter Rani Rose — and now we wish the season would never end!
“Last moments of a beautiful summer ☀️,” the A Little White Lie star captioned her post on Instagram. She also shared several dreamy photos of Rani, who looks like a mini model.
In the first, Rani stands in the middle of a road, wearing a red floral dress and gazing off in the distance in a reflective mood. Hudson snuggles up next to her daughter in a rustic bed in another photo, smiling with her lookalike little girl. There’s also a photo of Rani eating ice cream with sprinkles; sitting down to a homemade breakfast of eggs, bacon, and potatoes; and cozying up with her mama in a big circular chair. It looks like pure bliss!
The last photo shows Rani in her red dress, hugging a pink pig plush toy and grinning. She’s standing in front of a sign for the Zion Weeping Buffalo Resort, a glamping area in Utah near Zion National Park. The trip looks laidback and fun, and we could get lost in these artsy photos (and the feeling of endless summer) forever.

The Almost Famous star shares Rani with fiancé Danny Fujikawa. She’s also mom to sons Ryder, 19, with ex Chris Robinson, and Bingham, 12, with ex Matt Bellamy. In an interview on Byrdie’s After Dark issue in Dec. 2022, she revealed that she is constantly checking in with herself and her kids.
“How am I? You know, where am I at? And do I feel good? And do I feel healthy? And how are my kids? How’s my relationship? Like, am I happy right now? And what do I need to be happy? Where do I need to spend some time refocusing?” she explained about her thought process.
Hudson also revealed that she may not be done having children. “I’ve been having children my entire adult life,” she said. “I’ve got my 4-year-old and I’ve got a kid in college. And I don’t even know if I’m done yet. You know, I don’t have that answer yet.”
Either way, though, she plans on encouraging kids to be who they want to be. “The thing is with kids, you have to let them be who they’re meant to be,” she added.
