Now that she’s a mom herself, Lindsay Lohan appreciates her own mother even more. Isn’t it amazing how that happens? The 37-year-old actress took to Instagram to celebrate her mom Dina Lohan’s 61st birthday today, and the message she had for her is so sweet.
“Happy birthday mama! I love you so so much ❤️🙏💕,” the Mean Girls star wrote on her Instagram Story. “Thank you for your [sic] all of your love & for giving me life so I can now be a mama too!” How precious is that?!
“Today we celebrate you 😘,” she added.
Lohan welcomed baby Luai with husband Bader Shammas in July. Since then, she has kept pretty quiet about her life as a mom, although she did share a postpartum update in August.
“I am so proud of what this body was able to accomplish during these months of pregnancy and now, recovery,” the Freaky Friday star wrote. “Having a baby is the greatest joy in the world!”
“My OOTD lately is my @fridamom postpartum underwear,” she added, “Because I’m not a regular mom, I’m a postpartum mom. #fridamompartner.”
Dina, who shares Lindsay, Michael, Jr., 35, Aliana, 29, and Cody, 27, with ex-husband Michael Lohan, has given more insights into Lohan’s life.
In March 2023, Dina told PEOPLE that she was “over the moon” about Lohan expecting a baby, adding that the timing for her pregnancy was “perfect.”
“She’s been trying and then it happened, that little stick came up positive,” Dina said. “It’s the right time for her and Bader is an angel. Her husband is so sweet and they’re just so happy. They’re just really happy and ready.”
After meeting Luai, who is her second grandchild, Dina told PEOPLE, “To watch my oldest daughter with her beautiful son is a memory engraved in my heart forever. Lindsay took to her best role ever so naturally…she was always meant to be a mother.”
“God has truly blessed us all with lil Luai,” Dina added. “As I held Luai, tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks. Badar took to the role of daddy like a pro as well. They are a perfect team.”
