As the eldest Wales child Prince George grows up, it seems as though Kate Middleton and Prince William have very different ideas on what his next move should be. While George (and his two siblings) have been attending a co-ed day school, it seems he may be heading to a boarding school, like the rest of the royal family has done in the past. However, insiders say Kate is extremely against this.
Insiders told OK that William and Kate have been arguing about whether or not to let George go to a boarding school when he turns 13. While William is all for it, Kate is fighting hard to break the royal mold with this.
“Kate thinks sending him to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernize the monarchy. Plus, she’ll miss George desperately,” insiders said. “She and William argued about it for years, but he has finally won.”
George “wants to be just like his father,” and attend Eton, despite his mother’s worries. Along with her reported fear about it not modernizing the monarchy, she’s worried he’ll have a horrible experience like she did.
“She was horribly bullied at her first boarding school, and can’t bear the thought of George suffering through that,” the insiders added. “There’s also the worry that William will insist the other two kids be shipped out next. Kate knows this is all part of her ‘royal duty,’ but there’s a lot of tension between her and her husband right now.”
For those who don’t know, William and Kate share three children named George, 9, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5.
