Being a parent isn’t easy, and we know being a girl dad isn’t easy as well. However, after raising two daughters, Alex Rodriguez has mastered the subtle, effective art of vetting their partners.
In a recent interview with EOnline, the Out of the Ballparkauthor talked about how he and his girls don’t evade talking about dating, or hard-to-discuss subjects. “Because I’ve been so honest with them, they’ve given it right back to me—and that’s pretty cool. You can’t BS your children,” he started.
“They’re very solid,” he said. “They’re very, very open” when it comes to discussing dating (in an age-appropriate way, of course)!
However, while they’re living under his roof, he does have quite a few rules like a “strict curfew” and even waiting outside for them (which has shocked their dates).
“I wait outside for them,” he added, saying he had surprised the date a few times. “It has happened!” Hey, it’s a good way to keep them on their toes!
For those who don’t know, Rodriguez shares his two daughters Natasha, 18, and Ella, 15, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
In a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rodriguez talked about how his father leaving his family made him want to be a better dad to his two girls. “Ever since he left me and my family, I always thought, I never want to do that. I want to be a great father, a present father,” he said. “When I get home, I am the personal assistant.”
These celebrity fathers are all proud to be “girl dads.”
