Prince George Is Prince William’s Mini-Me During Father-Son Outing, From Matching Outfits to Mimicked Mannerisms

Prince George is destined to walk in his father’s shoes — and he’s already showing signs that he’s prepared to do so.

On Saturday, the young royal and Prince William enjoyed a father-son outing at the Rugby World Cup quarterfinals in France. The duo donned matching outfits for the occasion, looking dapper in navy suits accented with red ties. It wasn’t just their coordinating ensembles that made George stand out as his dad’s mini-me though — the 10-year-old was mimicking William’s mannerisms, proving he’s been paying attention to his royal training.

In a video shared by People, William and George are seen greeting fellow attendees, shaking hands, and making conversation with patrons. The young prince stood tall beside his dad and clasped his hands in front of him, displaying the very same proper yet relaxed body language as William. George let his father lead the conversation but was visibly engaged, following the chatter without fidgeting or getting distracted. It’s quite impressive self-control for a kid his age, but it’s undoubtedly exactly what’s expected of him.

This isn’t the first occasion George has shown he’s taking his role as future monarch very seriously. His most significant duty thus far was acting as a Page of Honor at King Charles’ coronation ceremony in May 2023. The older he gets, the more the prince exudes confidence and comfort with his station, and he’ll surely continue to blossom further as the years go by. After all, by the time he’s king, George will have observed three monarchs before him — Queen Elizabeth, King Charles, and the future King William — which is quite the privilege and preparation for his own eventual rule.
