We already know Jeannie Mai’s daughter Monaco is a little fashionista like her mom, but it seems she may already be a little co-host in the making.
On Nov 18, the Listen Hunnay with Jeannie Mai host shared a compilation video of her time behind-the-scenes of preparing for the Miss. Universe 2023 program. She shared the video with the caption reading, “Somebody please take me to a discoteca para some cumbia cuz this chica needs some divertida after hosting @missuniverse LIVE 🥳💃🏻👯♀️🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻#missuniverse #missuniverse2023 #72ndmissuniverse.”
In the behind-the-scenes video, we see Mai mingling with everyone backstage, going over the script, and rehearsing. But there was a little surprise guest who came up! That’s right: Monaco got up on stage with her mama!
Mai said in the voiceover: “And I brought the love of my life! Coco Roco aka Coco Bean aka ‘Monaco, Monaco, I love my Monaco!‘ Can you believe?! It’s Monaco’s first time in El Salvador, and I’m so proud to share what I love doing for work.”
Now, we could see Mai picking up Monaco, who’s happily giving her mama kisses and sitting in her arms as her mom rehearses. We also see her grabbing her mom’s microphone, showing everyone she’s a little host-in-the-making. (It’s a good thing her mom has hosted The Real, How Do I Look, Character Fantasy, and much more!)
In late 2021, she confirmed her pregnancy with Jeezy on an episode of The Real. Then fast forward to Jan. 2022, the pair welcomed daughter Monaco Mai-Jenkins, 1, into the world.
During a Nov 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Mai talked about her “village” that has helped her throughout raising her daughter. She said, “I used to be, well, I still am a boss, I can get it done by myself, but I ain’t that bossy by myself as a mom, I need help.”
She added, “I need my mom giving me advice, I need all the other moms around this area to tell me what you do with a 10-month-old. Every other week there’s some new thing that comes up with her that I got to ask and check about and I call, I listen to my friends and my pediatrician before I listen to the internet or Google. So, I’ve learned that you really need that village.”
