Rumer Willis Gushes About Motherhood With Her ‘Magical’ Baby Louetta: ‘I’m So Impressed By Her’

Magic is in the air this holiday season, and Rumer Willis is reflecting on the enchanting life of motherhood. She opened up about her “magical” baby Louetta, 6, months, in a new interview, and it’s such a beautiful tribute to her daughter.

“Children are wonderful and these magical, little beings and truly getting to witness and be around them as they discover the world, it’s incredible,” the Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood actress told PEOPLE.

She added that she’s “wildly impressed by the resilience of children” after Lou got sick with the flu. “She’s just a little trooper and I’m so impressed by her. And now, we’re all doing fine.”

Willis is looking forward to seeing what her parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, will pass down to Louetta. “I think inherently, some of the most magical parts of myself, are definitely from [my parents], so I feel like that will be passed down to her,” she told the outlet. “I love watching them with her.”

But it’s not just her baby who is discovering the world — in a way, Willis is discovering the world through the eyes of motherhood, too.

“I also think it’s amazing, being able to discover myself as a mom and her dad and I discovering ourselves as parents,” she continued, referring to her partner and Louetta’s dad Derek Richard Thomas. “We’re discovering how we want a parent, and how we’re taking the things certain things from our parents, but also how we’re kind of forming new things for ourselves because there’s so much that we have access to that our parents didn’t.”

That’s so true! And (spoiler alert!) learning how you want to parent is basically a lifelong process. Luckily, Willis is enjoying it.

“Honestly, being a mom is an experience I’ve dreamed about my whole life,” the model told PEOPLE. “And what’s been incredible to experience is that Lou has far exceeded any expectations or any idea or dream that I possibly had.”

Wilis and Thomas welcomed baby Louetta in April. She announced the birth of her little one on Instagram, writing, “You are pure magic🌱 Born at home on Tuesday April 18th — You are more than we ever dreamed of ✨.” And things have just kept getting better from there!
