Blue Ivy is refusing to let the internet trolls bring her down, and we love to see it. (Well, minus the fact that there were trolls in the first place.)
In her Renaissance World Tour concert film, mom Beyoncé revealed that after her 11-year-old joined her on stage for several concerts, she became Target No. 1 for internet haters. Because yeah, people are a—holes. According to the “Single Ladies” singer, all the criticism around her dancing made the tween determined to step up her game, working even harder to prove all the jerks out there wrong.
Her improvement was quickly noticed by fans who shared how Blue Ivy’s dancing has changed on TikTok.
“Watching her confidence grow throughout the tour has made me so proud! She’s improved so much🥹🥲,” one fan said.
And it’s true that her confidence on stage seems to have skyrocketed, but we hate to know that this is the result of the 11-year-old getting negative feedback from strangers.
Beyoncé sharing this backstory puts JAY-Z’s comments from last month into a whole new light. The “Love On Top” singer shares Blue Ivy along with 6-year-old twins Rumi and Sir with the rapper. JAY-Z said on CBS Morningsthat he “still gets goosebumps” when he sees his daughter walk on stage.
“She’s been born into a life she didn’t ask for. So since she was born, she’s been in scrutiny and the public eye and everyone having an opinion of even a little girl, how she keeps her hair,” he said. “So for her to be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song is called ‘My Power,’ you can’t write a better script.”
And she certainly has “reclaimed her power,” dominating the stage with the kind of strong presence that proves she is the daughter of Sasha Fierce — the badass persona Beyoncé tries to identify with even when she doesn’t feel that way. Don’t let those trolls bring you down, Blue Ivy Fierce. You’ve got this.
