Macaulay Culkin was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week for his exceptional roles in classic comedies. The prominent child actor rose to fame when he played Kevin McCallister in Home Alone, and it appears he’s kept some of Kevin in him. That charming humor hasn’t left the dad of two.
In his acceptance speech, he explained why it’s so special to him that his sons — Dakota, 2 and a baby boy whose name hasn’t been revealed — will get to see his star on the infamous sidewalk.
“I love the fact that my boys can come here and see a dog pee on my name.”
Because…yeah, that must happen.
Catherine O’Hara, who played Culkin’s mom in the Home Alone franchise, was not surprised by the quip. She spoke at the event and said, “You have brought that sense of sweet yet twisted yet totally relatable sense of humor to everything that you have chosen to do.” (Psst! You’ll want to see their heartwarming reunion photo HERE.)
Dog pee jokes aside, Culkin gave his family of four a sweet and emotional shoutout during the ceremony. He called Song, his fiancé, “absolutely everything.”
“You’re my champion. You’re the only person happier for me today than I am. You’re not only the best woman I’ve ever know, you’re the best person I’ve ever known. And after the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people.”
“You’ve given me all my purpose,” he continued. “You’ve given me family.”
Since the ceremony, Culkin shared a touching Instagram post thanking the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce once again for the immense honor. “My kid can’t stop playing with [the star],” he said.
Well, it’s a good thing Dakota (presumably) has one at home to play with. We doubt he’ll be allowed to play on the real thing if it ends up covered in dog pee.
