Chrissy Teigen is known for a lot of things: Her recipes, her beyond-adorable kids, and her [admirable] refusal to put up with anyone’s bullsh*t. The cookbook author shared a carousel of photos and videos of her kids on Instagram that had us crying happy tears. Because Luna, 7, Miles, 5, Esti, 11 months and Wren, 6 months are the cutest little carbon copies of their dad John Legend.
There are videos of Miles and Luna expertly breaking wooden boards in their martial arts class, Miles not-so-expertly running down the basketball court before making a perfect shot (“That’s the cutest violation of traveling I’ve ever seen 😍👏,” one follower said), and one of Wren crushing tummy time. There are also shots of Teigen and Luna making Muddy Buddies (or Puppy Chow or your regional name of choice) that had Kris Jenner commenting, “We need the recipe for this Christmas mix please!!! ❤️🥰🎄.”
“all the things!!” Teigen captioned her post.
And even though we should all just be reveling in the cuteness of those and all the other photos and videos, someone had to come out and ruin the fun. In the opening video, Teigen is feeding a happy little Wren spoonfuls of orange baby food.
“To much on that spoon … easy mama ❤️,” someone commented.
And yes, our blood started boiling. Because why do the busybodies always have to say something?
“Was waiting for this!” Teigen responded to the comment, “he spits out over half every bite, and smaller bites still get spit out because he’s new and rolls his tongue a lot ❤️”
And you just know that was a perfectly-placed “bless your heart”-type of heart. A “mind your own damn business”-type of heart. Because really? Followers came to Teigen’s defense, saying, “She has 4 kids, I think she’s got it figured out by now. How she ever managed to get this far without your input is amazing.”
And just as followers said feeding Wren isn’t Teigen’s first rodeo, this comment isn’t her first rodeo with mom shamers either.
On a post two weeks ago with a picture of her and her babies in their jammies, some horrendous person commented, “Your miscarriage was not an abortion 🙄,” referencing the child Teigen lost about halfway through her pregnancy in 2020. And yeah, we can’t even with that one.
A week earlier, someone had the audacity to ruin a beautiful video of Legend playing the piano and singing to his wife and Esti in their home.
“She has no self respect, half naked majority of the time. Exposing her daughter to this good role model. Go put clothes on!!!” a follower commented.
John Legend came back at her with that a—hole with a response that still has us reeling. “Gasp! She’s even shown Esti her bare breast!”
THE HORROR.
And this is all just in the past month. The amount of mom-shaming that goes on on the internet and IRL never ceases to amaze us. But if anyone is prepared to deal with the haters, it’s Teigen, Legend, and their adorable karate-chopping kiddos.
