Jason Sudeikis‘ kids were every child who had one too many sweets on Christmas, if his most recent live TV appearance is any indication.
On Monday, the Ted Lasso star joined WNBA icons Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi on their show, the Bird & Taurasi Show, as they watched the Christmas Day NBA game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the New York Knicks. While most of the show involved Sudeikis sharing his love for basketball through funny anecdotes, his two kids made a surprise appearance that had everyone giggling — including the actor himself.
While Bird and Taurasi were greeting Sudeikis, his son Otis, 9, and daughter Daisy, 7, hung off each of his shoulders while making silly faces on screen. All three adults tried to hold back laughter as the kids ran their own chaotic sideshow, popping on and off camera to hug their dad and show off their Christmas gifts from Santa.
At one point, Daisy asked viewers to “Subscribe now” — she’s clearly been around the block when it comes to influencing — and Sudeikis exasperatedly responded through laughter, “No don’t, we’re not shilling stuff guys, come on.” Bird funnily asked, “Did I just hear a ‘Subscribe now?’ They’re speaking our language!”
“Yeah, they’re ready to light up the airwaves,” the We’re the Millers star joked while chortling and pestering the kids to go do something else. Before they made their final exit, Otis and Daisy took turns crowding the camera to make more silly faces while Sudeikis self-consciously laughed in the background, letting out an embarrassed “Oh my God.” Celebrities — they’re just like us!
Taurasi made light of the hilarious intrusion, sharing that the entire reason she decided to record the episode from a studio was so her kids wouldn’t do the same thing Sudeikis’ were doing. “That could have been me right now,” she joked as the Horrible Bosses actor shoo-ed away his littles. Holding up a hand to the side of his mouth, Sudeikis self-deprecatingly muttered, “Some people’s kids.”
Otis and Daisy surely have a future in comedy like their dad after that gut-busting performance — or maybe they’ll pivot to drama like their famous mama, Sudeikis’ ex-fiancée Olivia Wilde. Their kids are both naturals when it comes to commanding the spotlight, that much is certain.
