There are quite a few things we look forward to at the end of the year: the possibilities that bloom from the upcoming year, our Spotify Wrapped playlists, and seeing what the most popular baby names of the year were. We can’t help it, we love baby names and learning all the cool aesthetics behind them. We especially adore seeing which names rose and declined in popularity. And for those wondering, yes, one of the royal kid’s names came into play.
Specifically, Kate Middleton and Prince William’s children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’s names came into play. While George, Charlotte, and Louis are more common type of names compared to other people in the public eye’s children (yes, we’re talking about Grimes and Elon Musk’s children’s unique names), one of Kate and William’s children’s names ranked the highest out of them all.
Per Baby Center, neither Louis nor George’s names came into the top 100, but Charlotte’s name stayed strong in the top 10.
When Charlotte was born, her name became the most popular girl name, and since then, it’s remained high on the list. Last year, it was number nine, and now, for 2023, it has been bumped to the fifth most popular girl’s name.
The influence Charlotte already has! We love to see that the princess is already a favorite for so many, and let’s face it, her name is gorgeous and we’re psyched to see it grow in popularity.
For those who don’t know, William and Kate married in 2011 after their on-and-off-again relationship that happened from 2003 to 2010. Since their nuptials, they’ve welcomed three children named George, 9, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5.
