It may not be October 3, but it feels like Mean Girls Day all the same! Lindsay Lohan, star of the 2004 hit film, walked the red carpet in honor of the 2024 Mean Girls musical on Monday night, taking pictures with the new Cady Heron (played by Angourie Rice) and dishing about motherhood. It was so grool!
During the New York City event, Lohan wore a gorgeous black gown with cut-out sides and a sparkly silver belt, paired with a matching black clutch with silver buckle. Her long red hair was curled and parted on the side, looking absolutely stunning. As she walked the pink carpet, she was asked if she identifies as a “cool mom” since welcoming son Luai with husband Bader Shammas in July 2023. “I hope so,” she told PEOPLE with a laugh. Don’t we all hope to be cool moms?
The Parent Trap star also talked about being in the “mom club” with her Mean Girls co-stars Rachel McAdams, who is mom to a son born in 2018 and a daughter born in 2020 with partner Jamie Linden; Amanda Seyfried, who is mom to Nina, 6, and Thomas, 2, with husband Thomas Sadoski; and Lacey Chabert, who is mom to 7-year-old Julia with husband David Nehdar.
“I’m part of the mom club now with them. It’s great. It’s such an amazing feeling,” Lohan told Entertainment Tonight. “I feel great. I feel wonderful. He’s coming up on six months.”
Lohan also chatted about reuniting with Seyfried and Chabert to do Mean Girls-themed commercials for Walmart. “The three of us are friends,” she told ET. “I love Amanda and she’s done so well with her career. She’s such a great actress and Lacey as well. We’re good friends and that’s what matters most.”
She also praised the film, which will celebrate 20 years this year. “It’s stood the test of time,” Lohan told the outlet. “I feel really grateful. I mean, it’s not very often that you have all these movies that do that. Mean Girls really opened the doors for a lot of things going on in schools. I think it’s also a really fun movie, so it’s really a blessing.”
In August, Lohan shared her first postpartum photo, where she was glowing in high-waisted gray boy shorts and a light blue tank top. “I am so proud of what this body was able to accomplish during these months of pregnancy and now, recovery,” the Freaky Friday star wrote. “Having a baby is the greatest joy in the world!”
She explained that she’s been wearing Frida Mom postpartum underwear, adding, “Because I’m not a regular mom, I’m a postpartum mom.” Love that!
It seems like Lohan has embraced mom life wholeheartedly. Sources told Us Weekly in October that the actress “loves being a mom so much and has grown into it so naturally.” She is also reportedly “in the healthiest, most stable and confident place in her life.”
If that’s not being a cool mom, we don’t know what is!
