Drew Scott Nails How Toddlers Behave When Parents Look Away for ‘2 Seconds’ in a Funny New Video

Toddlers on a mission are faster than any Olympic runner. How they can get from right by your side to the middle of a street in the blink of an eye is frankly terrifying — and every parent you know probably has similar stories of dangerous situations their little ones have gotten into even though you’re watching them constantly. Drew Scott recently re-enacted a funny toddler moment from his son Parker, 20 months, who he shares with wife Linda Phan, and if you don’t laugh, you’ll cry!

In the video, the Property Brothers co-host writes, “POV: You take your eyes off your toddler for 2 seconds.” He holds a bunch of groceries that need to be loaded in the fridge, while his toddler (played by Scott in pajamas) happily munches on a snack at the kitchen table. As Scott glances toward the fridge to set an apple down, he looks back to see his “toddler” on top of the kitchen counter and playing with two knives trying to open a paint can above his head. Like any parent with Spider-man-like reflexes, Scott immediately drops his food and runs to save his little boy.

If you haven’t caught your toddler with a knife, consider yourself lucky! These kids are just trying to hurt themselves and it’s practically impossible to keep up.

“How do they always go from 0 to dangerous in 2 seconds?! #ParentingBeLike #parenting,” Scott captioned the funny video.

People loved this hilarious representation of toddler life. “I was on the phone with a friend years ago and she yelled OMG MY SON IS ON TOP OF THE FRIDGE! ….And she hung up,” one person wrote.

Another referenced Scott’s song choice, “Murder on the Dance Floor” by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. “Omg! This is beyond epic! You guys are too funny! 😂 Excellent song choice too. Such a bop!” they wrote.

“😂😂😂 so so true,” someone else commented.

This isn’t the first time Scott has addressed the perils of child-rearing in a funny way. In Sept. 2023, he shared the horror of what happens “when you take your eyes off your toddler for two seconds.”

In this video, Scott sets Parker down in a playpen. In the time it takes Scott to turn around and open the fridge, Parker is already escaped and is crawling across the dining room at the speed of lightning. “Dad can’t even get a snack break?!” Scott captioned the relatable video. He’s gotta stop trying to open the fridge!
