Carrie Underwood’s Son Jacob Shows Off The Impressive Talent That Runs in the Family

Carrie Underwood’s son Jacob just turned 5, and she celebrated his birthday in a unique way. The “Before He Cheats” singer shared rare new photos and videos of her second-born, who she shares with husband Mike Fisher, revealing his cool talent — and we are seriously impressed!

“A special birthday for a special 5 year old!!!” Underwood wrote on Instagram on Sunday.  She also shared the fun way they ushered in his birthday: going ice skating in their own yard!

“Our pond was frozen over in perfect condition for a night skate! What a treat!!!” Underwood continued. “Happy birthday, Jake! I know you wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! #blessed#hockey#12#HappyBirthday#DudePerfect.”

She shared photos of their frozen pond, which they set up with ice hockey nets to form a little rink. In one video, Jacob skates along the ice with his brother Isaiah, 8. They are both naturals, clearly taking after their former National Hockey League player dad.

Jacob looks so cute in his full hockey gear, skates, and helmet. He has confidence and skills on the ice (even at night!) that go way beyond his age. In one photo, he even slides down the ice on his side, with his hockey stick gripped tightly in his hands. It’s obvious he’s grown up on the ice!

Another video shows Jacob trying to get snow on his hockey stick. Underwood calls to him, “Jakey, did you have a good birthday?”

The little boy, whose blonde hair and adorable smile can be seen peeking through the grill on his helmet, enthusiastically responds, “Yes!” So cute!

“Looks like a good old Canadian winter in Nashville. Love seeing kids on the pond. The best place to learn!!🙌” one person commented.

Someone else wrote, “Yay! Wow! I’ll bet he’ll play ice hockey when he grows up, just like his daddy! 👍👏”

Miranda Lambert commented, “❤️.”

Underwood and Fisher’s boys are very athletic. Back in September 2021, she shared that Isaiah started playing baseball for the first time. “Isaiah made his baseball debut tonight! I got more nervous watching him than I used to get when I watched his daddy play hockey! #ProudMom#KidCanHit ❤️,” she captioned a series of photos.

The “Cry Pretty” singer also tries to limit screen time for her boys. “It’s such a battle, right?” she told TODAY about kids and screen time in Sept. 2023. “Even television … I kind of notice when they watch too much TV, they have an attitude shift. I’m like, ‘Why are you moody? What are we doing?’ And then it’s like, ‘Ohhh …” and sometimes, they’ve learned a lot from different televisions programs and movies … but yeah, it’s a struggle.”

She added that the other parents at her kids’ school are in agreement to “keep our kids kind of away from technology, especially like, social media and stuff.”

When you have cool parents who will take you out to play ice hockey in the middle of the night, screens pale in comparison anyway!
