Kate Middleton Is Reportedly in ‘Regular Contact’ with Her Kids While in the Hospital

Kate Middleton likely has the best care team in England helping her to recovery from surgery, but nothing beats a mom’s most important “medicine” — the love of her kids! The Princess of Wales is currently recovering from a planned abdominal surgery at The London Clinic. And while her kids Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, have not been to visit, she is reportedly staying in “regular contact” with them.

“Kate loves FaceTiming the children when she is working away overseas so I’m sure they will be in regular contact while she’s in hospital, and the kids will be keen to see her as soon as she’s well enough,” HELLO! Magazine’s royal editor Emily Nash told the outlet. Nash added, “She loves having her family around her so will be looking forward to getting home and having cuddles with the kids.”

There truly is nothing better! Especially because it’s likely very hard for her kids to come visit her while they have school and extracurricular activities.

Kensington Palace announced on Jan. 17 that Middleton had a “successful” surgery and will remain in the hospital for 10-14 days before continuing to recover at home. She isn’t expected to make any public appearances until after Easter.  Insiders told PEOPLE that Prince William has “shifted his schedule” in order to take care of their kids and be by his wife’s side.

Sources also told Daily Mailthat Middleton’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton, her sister Pippa Middleton, and her brother James Middleton will also be around to help out, including supporting the kids and helping Kate’s recovery.

In the palace’s official statement, Princess Kate hopes to keep things normal for the kids.

“The Princess of Wales appreciate the interest this statement will generate,” the statement continued. “She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private.”

This fits with another thing Nash said in Hello!: “Both William and Kate are very hands-on parents — they take the kids to school, attend sports matches and concerts and try to be home for bedtime as much as they can. While Kate is in hospital, William will be at home keeping things as normal as possible.”

With an army of people to help out and the joy of getting to talk to her kids over video chat, Princess Kate is sure to recover in no time!
