North West is going to be a star — again! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s 10-year-old daughter is already a TikTok queen and a reality TV star, and now she’s starring in her first music video.
The “Heartless” singer shared a preview of the new music video, planned by and starring North, and fans are amazed by her talent! “TALKING VIDEO TREATMENT BY YOUR BESTIE MS MS WESTIE,” Ye captioned a photo on Instagram. It showed a storyboard split up into different scenes, referencing North’s upcoming rap debut on West’s album Vultures, which drops Feb. 9.
North’s First Rap Song
ICYMI, North appears on the song “You Don’t Want (North Interlude)” with the lyrics, “I love it here / We’re gonna take over another year / It’s your bestie Miss, Miss Westie. Don’t try to test me / It’s gonna get messy / Just, just bless me, bless me / It’s your bestie Miss, Miss Westie.” She performed the song at a listening party for Vultures in December, per Billboard.
And now she is going to make a music video! The Kardashians star breaks it down in an Instagram video.
“OK, so, I’m in my Lamborghini driving over to basketball practice,” she explains in the video, as the camera shows the car and a couple of basketball players on a storyboard. “And I’m driving in the front seat just by myself,” she clarifies. I mean, duh! She is the star after all.
Later, the scene will cut to “all my friends in Vultures merch” before she hops back in her car and drives to Nobu Malibu. “And then we get out of the car but there’s so much paparazzi,” she continues in the video. “So then me and my friends yell out the car like, ‘Don’t try to test me!’”
North shows a picture of her friends and one of praying hands, explaining that she’ll say, “bless me” and then “my dad says, ‘bless me,’ the second time.” Afterward, her and Ye will play fight in a boxing ring. The video wraps up with her playing basketball and hanging out with her friends again. The vision, the planning, the lining up shots with verses — it’s really good for a 10-year-old!
The Comments
Fans were impressed too. “it’s so beautiful to see a child fully believe in herself bc her support system encourages and fully believes in her. so many of us were missing that growing up. i love this,” one person commented.
“Northie said what budget? Let’s shoot this thing 😂😂😂,” another quipped. Someone else said, “That little girl is going to be a legend when she grows up. Watch! ❤️” (When she grows up? She’s already a legend!).
“She’s a natural visionary! Get her director chair ready,” one comment said.
“She might be the best Ye creation we’ve seen thus far! Incredible little girl,” another wrote.
Fatherly Advice
In an interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, the “Donda” rapper opened up about the advice he gives his daughter. “North likes basketball. I’m going to come and practice with her every day. I’m also going to pick the other coaches that work with her,” he said, per E! News.
He continued, “When North snatches the ball out of a girl twice her size and she comes over to the side, I tell her, ‘Don’t let anyone take anything from you ever. Don’t let anyone take anything from our family. Don’t let anyone take our company. Always protect your brothers and sisters.'”
North Star
North is marking her own path, and it’s so inspiring to watch her grow up. In Nov. 2023, North graced the cover of i-D’s Fall/Winter 2023issue, where she gave her first cover interview.
“Yeah, I like singing. Performing is my favorite,” she told the outlet. She also shared what she wants to be when she grows up.
“A basketball player, a rapper, um … Well, when I was seven, I wanted to be a boxer. But now I don’t want to be a boxer,” North said. “I’m going to do art on the side. When I’m, like, 13, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive. So a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell. Also, one day I want to own Yeezy and SKIMS, and I want to be a business owner.” She can already check a couple of those things off the list!
