Heather Rae El Moussa is celebrating one year of being a mom, and her tribute to baby Tristan is so heartfelt. She shared a series of photos with her husband Tarek El Moussa and their 1-year-old son, commemorating it with a sweet note that we know Tristan will cherish when he is old enough to read!
Birthday Tribute
“Happy birthday Tristan Jay!!! Our sweet little bear 🧸 is officially 1 year old today 🥹,” Heather Rae wrote on Instagram Wednesday. She called her baby boy “The best addition to our family of five,” which includes Tarek’s kids Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8, who he shares with ex Christina Hall, “and a light that brightens all of our days with his endless smiles, loudest belly giggles, and perfect blue eyes 🤍.”
She continued, “I can’t believe we have 1 teenager, 1 pre-teen, and a toddler in our home … soaking in every single moment, big and little, because where does the time go?!”
The Selling Sunset star also shared several pictures with baby Tristan, who looks like the perfect mix of his mom and dad with his blonde hair and sweet face.
A Year of Memories
Earlier this week, Heather Rae shared a montage video of Tristan’s first year of life, and it’s hard to believe how much he’s grown! From Heather Rae telling Tarek she was pregnant, to the sex reveal party, to giving birth, to first holidays, and tons of snuggles with his family, this video is so precious. In her caption, The Flipping El Moussas star reflected on motherhood.
“It makes me want to tear up because our sweet baby boy is ONE year old tomorrow 🤍,” Heather Rae wrote in part. She shared that motherhood taught her “so much about myself and about life.” Heather Rae continued, “A lot of people say that when you become a mom, you change — and I never really thought that would happen to me but I was so wrong. I became so protective of my family and so protective of our peace, so HAPPY being in our own private little bubble, and so grounded in the thought that all that matters is family, good friends, and our health.”
“I’ve experienced new levels of happiness, exhaustion, laughter, gratitude, chaos, and love and genuinely feel motivated to be the best version of myself everyday for Tristan, Tay, and Bray,” the HGTV star continued. “Being a mom is the hardest most rewarding job in the world but Tristan, Tay, and Bray have filled my heart more than words🤍 My family is the deepest love I’ve ever known and tomorrow is definitely a celebration of that ❤️.”
In Her Mom Era
In a Nov. 2023 interview with PEOPLE, Heather Rae shared that motherhood is “truly the best experience.” “I did not think that I would love being a mom as much as I do, and I truly love being a mommy,” she told the outlet.
“It’s my favorite,” she continued. “It’s my era of my life and my favorite chapter of my life, and I just cannot wait to watch him grow and see all these little new things that he’s doing. It’s the best.”
