Where does the time go? One moment you’re enjoying sweet newborn baby cuddles, and the next, you’re hosting a party for a one-year-old with an attitude! Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa’s baby Tristan turned one on Jan. 31, and he celebrated with an epic birthday party. Only the guest of honor didn’t seem to enjoy it quite as much as everyone else.
‘ONEder The Sea’
The Flipping El Moussas star shared a series of photos on Instagram this week of their son’s adorable Little Mermaid-inspired party. “Tristan’s ONEder the sea 🌊 🐠🦈 🐳 birthday party was perfect in every way. Our hearts are so full. 🥹☺️” Heather Rae captioned the post.
The party looked amazing, with a beautiful snack cart decorated with turquoise, green, tan, and gray balloons and fish signs, an ocean-themed cake, and a photo prop area with fish, whales and Tristan’s name. But while his parents were busy taking adorable photos, Tristan was mastering the side-eye.
Uninterested Baby
In the first picture, Heather Rae holds her son, while Tarek smiles and caresses his head. Tristan is dressed fashionably in black jeans and a light blue button shirt, but he is totally focused on his mom’s gold buttons on her blouse. In Slide 2, Tristan sits in the high chair with an adorable round cake in front of him. It’s decorated with blue icing to look like the ocean, with colorful coral plants, fish, and sprinkle bubbles dotted around it. Tristan has his hands up behind his head and is just giving the camera a look. You know the one — like, why are you making me do this, mom?
But the third picture is the best. Tarek holds Tristan in his arms and Heather Rae holds up a lollipop with Tristan’s face on it as they both smile at their son. But Tristan just turns his head and gives the camera the most epic side-eye we’ve ever seen. What a star!
Every other photo in the carousel including a grumpy or uninterested Tristan, including one where he is posing with his siblings Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8, who Tarek shares with ex Christina Hall. If you want to see a Tristan smile, though, you can scroll all the way to the end — where Heather Rae plants a smooch on a cardboard cut-out picture of Tristan. Hey, baby boy was just not feeling it that day, and that’s OK!
Birthday Love
On Tristan’s birthday last week, Heather Rae wrote a sweet note to her son. “Happy birthday Tristan Jay!!! Our sweet little bear 🧸 is officially 1 year old today 🥹,” she wrote on Instagram. She called Tristan “The best addition to our family of five and a light that brightens all of our days with his endless smiles, loudest belly giggles, and perfect blue eyes 🤍.”
“I can’t believe we have 1 teenager, 1 pre-teen, and a toddler in our home… soaking in every single moment, big and little, because where does the time go?!” she continued. It goes quickly, that’s for sure! But at least you have amazing pictures to look back on and remember — adorable side-eye and all!
