There’s nothing like potty training to test your resolve as a parent. Drew Scott is in the thick of it with his 21-month-old son Parker, and his latest video update is so funny.
“Potty training is going great 🤪 #ParentingBeLike #parenting,” the Property Brothers co-host captioned a video on Instagram. In it, he recreates a scene that all toddler parents have experienced before.

“Conversations with my toddler,” text on the video reads. Scott is dressed in jeans, a gray t-shirt, and a brown leather jacket as he asks his son, “Parker, do you need to pee?”
Because nothing is ever simple with toddlers, he responds, “No!” Of course, in this video, Parker is played by Scott, who is dressed in red footsie pajamas as he re-enacts his son.
“Pee pee?” Scott asks again. As Parker, he responds, “No!” before crossing his arms and turning his head. He’s standing in the bathroom, shaking his head no. Ah, been there too many times to count!
“Parker, I think you need to pee,” Scott calmly insists, before Scott-playing-Parker turns around and urinates directly on the floor. As a stream of pee (hopefully it’s just water!) flows to the ground right in front of the toilet, Scott-as-Parker turns around and smiles sheepishly. Yup! We always know when they have to pee, but it’s never as simple as them just sitting on the toilet and going. Who knew parenthood would involve this many bodily fluids?!
Parents everywhere could relate. “Toddlers are little drunk people😂😂😂😂😂,” one person hilariously responded. Someone else shared, “OMG I remember it well 😂😂😂.”
Others gave some great advice. “Because they always want to go first … 🤣 I changed from asking if they had to go to potty to … ‘Do you want to go pee first or should I go first?’ Lol! Game changer!! 🏆🥇😂” one person wrote. Hey, it’s worth a try!
“Consider the reward system. Never be above bribing,” someone else suggested.
Boy Dad
The HGTV star, who shares Parker and a baby-on-the-way with wife Linda Phan, has been open with his potty training struggles before. Earlier this month, he shared a video with the point-of-view “changing diapers as a boy dad.” In it, the camera is set up from the angle that would be Parker, as Scott dodges pee shooting straight at him.
“Reflexes on point #parenting,” he captioned the video. So true!
Baby-on-the-Way
Maybe Scott and Phan will have a girl this time and experience another side of potty training? Only time will tell, as these two are waiting until the baby is born to find out its sex.
“We don’t actually know if it’s going to be a boy or girl, so it’s going to be a surprise,” Scott told PEOPLE last month.
It’ll probably take until the baby is born for Parker to realize he’s getting a sibling, too. “I think he knows something,” the Celebrity IOU star said about his toddler. “If we say, ‘Where’s the baby?,’ he puts his hand on his belly. So he knows something, but I don’t know if he quite gets it yet.”
Parker’s going to be the best big brother — especially if he can learn how to go on the potty seat first!
