Once again, mom shamers are trying to rain on people’s parades, including Jeannie Mai’s heartfelt photoshoot with her daughter. It’s 2024, and we’re done with the mom shaming, and Mai’s fans agree with that statement!
On Feb 14, Mai shared a series of photos of her and her daughter Monaco to her Instagram. She shared the photos with the caption reading, “This is your reminder that your love can be pure. That you are not the last one standing when you yearn for a love that stands on solid ground, and is faithful. This is your reminder that this kind of love is alive here today, because you are alive today. So long as you believe and never cease to love in this way.”
She added, “Appreciate the many ways this pure kind of love finds its way to you. Rest your head, shed your armor, delight in the childlike freedom of that vulnerability. You belong there. You are chosen there. Happy Valentines Day Mai Fam🖤.”
In the first photo, we see Mai looking like a radiant goddess as she rocks an olive and black, form-fitting gown in an all-white entryway. Then, we see a bunch of truly heartwarming photos of Mai and Monaco looking adorable together, with Monaco in her mama’s arms. Between the touching caption and the loving mother-daughter photos, there’s so much to love here.
But of course, trolls had to ruin it.
Can you guess what people had a problem with? Monaco’s hair. Many trolls commented things like “Please get the proper care for your daughter’s hair texture. It’s unique and requires different attention,” “Do you not know how to do her hair?” and “How are you beat from head to toe and your daughter isn’t?? Comb her hair put some clothes on her SMH.”
So, you really don’t think Mai knows how to care for her daughter, and her hair? Her own mother?! *eye roll* Mai is a dedicated mother and we’re sure she tends to all of Monaco’s needs perfectly.
Luckily, many of Mai’s fans came to her rescue and defend her, saying things like “It’s another moment where people could simply stay quiet, but instead, they choose to make fools of themselves,” and “I hate people that comment negativity instead of seeing the whole picture…. She was probably taking photos and the baby joined in her natural state… love this!!!! Y’all will find anything to hate on😖.”
Ignore the haters, Mai, you and Monaco remain one of the cutest, sweetest mother-daughter duos!
