Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick‘s son James Wilkie rarely posts on Instagram. In fact, the 21-year-old only has 10 photos currently showing on his grid. So when he shared a rare photo dump of a scenic outdoor adventure with his movie star parents, the internet well and truly fangirled over the wholesome moment.
The Moment in Question
On Sunday, James posted four snaps documenting a family friend’s birthday, with two of the photos showing the close-knit bond he has with Parker and Broderick. The first shot was presumably taken by the Sex and the City alum, capturing the Inspector Gadget icon and their eldest child casually standing in an open, grassy expanse surrounded by barren trees. James wore beige skinny jeans, a violet cable knit sweater over a white t-shirt, and white sneakers, while his dad dressed in medium-wash jeans, a blue t-shirt, and a navy button-up with orange shoes.
The second photo was presumably captured by James, as it documents his parents standing back-to-back at the base of a hilly landscape at sunset. Broderick is seen standing straight and gazing toward the camera, while Parker is leaning backward to rest her head against one of her husband’s shoulders. In both of the two photos, the trio looks relaxed, comfortable, and serene in each other’s company, and fans definitely picked up on the contented vibes.

“Oh my gosh I couldn’t love these photos more. Truly,” one person gushed in the comments section. Another agreed, writing, “These are so great ❤️.”
Others specifically raved to James about how beloved his parents are, with one supporter cheekily commenting, “I wish carrie Bradshaw was my mom.” Another, much to James’ chagrin, let him know just how much they love the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star. “Your dad is the GOAT…+ my first ever crush 🥰,” the fan unabashedly confessed.
Even one of James’ two sisters was feeling FOMO from the sweet family moment — 14-year-old Tabitha commented, “So jealous.” When a teenager is feeling prickly about missing a moment with their parents, you know the parents in question are on another level. Considering this is Ferris Bueller and Carrie Bradshaw we’re talking about, it’s no surprise that they’re the real deal.
