Keke Palmer’s baby Leodis “Leo” turned 1 yesterday, and he is cuter than ever. The Nope star shared several photos and videos of her firstborn son, and a heartwarming message to commemorate his first year on earth. Fair warning: it’s a tear-jerker!
“Leo Beo!!” Palmer started her post, sharing her adorable nickname for her son. “Happy Birthday son I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.”
“You came into my life today at 3:25pm, but I knew even before then that you were the strongest person I ever knew,” the “Big Boss” singer continued. “There were so many moments during my pregnancy where your silent strength would give me peace. This is something you still do just with your mere existence!”
She added, “You make my life so worth living.”
Life
But she wasn’t just saying that. In her lengthy birthday letter, Palmer admitted that she’s “teeter tottered with life” and been “so annoyed by it and the ups and the downs.”
“But since you my son, I have no confusion on why I am here!” she continued in the vulnerable post. “On my purpose or my value or why I should stay. I wanna stay for you. I want to be here to love and protect you and watch you be the good in this world!”
“You are so special and so precious I would take a thousand bullets to the chest, run into a burning building, essentially I’d die a thousand deaths … or actually I’d LIVE, I’d live a million lives,” Palmer wrote. “Even with all the pain and suffering one has to experience here. I will do it over and over again, because I know that I’d be with YOU! I will live, I will smile, I will cry, I’ll be angry, I’ll have love and I’ll have pain, I will find JOY. I will do all the things … for you. It’s so easy to say no, it’s so easy to say GOODBYE. But I say YES and I say HELLO to LIFE because of YOU! I’m so happy for my son. Thank you God. I love you so much buddy.”
BRB, have to go bawl my eyes out. This must have been incredibly hard to write and post on the internet. It’s such a beautiful expression of love that you can’t help but be moved by it.
Palmer also shared several cute moments with her son, including a video of him swinging and giggling with his mama, a picture of him playing with bubbles outside, and a video of him making tooting noises with his mouth and giggling. He’s such a cute little smush!

Birthday
The True Jackson, VP alum also shared a throwback video of Leo in the hospital when he was born. “I gave LIFE! Greatest day of my life. Nothing else matters 🥹♓️🫶🏾,” she captioned the clip. Leo has a gray-and-white quilt tucked around him and an elephant as he lies in the hospital bed. In the clip, Palmer walks up to the baby in her hospital gown. “This is my son,” she said.

Breakup
Palmer shares Leo with ex Darius Jackson. The two broke up in Oct. 2023 and Palmer filed a restraining order a month later, claiming that Jackson abused Palmer several times over the course of their two-year relationship, per Us Weekly. According to the documents, Jackson “trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent” on Nov. 5 and “threatened” Palmer before “lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone.”
The actress and singer also filed for full custody of Leo and was granted temporary full legal and physical custody rights, with Jackson denied visitation rights until a later hearing, per PEOPLE.
Life may not be perfect for Palmer (or for anyone!), but she is choosing to find fulfillment out of her beautiful baby boy, and it’s such an inspiration.
